For some reason I've always wanted to try this place. It looks so nice from the aoutside and actually it is nice inside as well. There's free wifi, lots of seating an good music. The americano is creamy and strong, exactly how I like it! The menu in general keeps a fair amount of items and everything is home-baked. Finally the service, very friendly. View all feedback.
What Rachel Lam doesn't like about White Squirrel Coffee Shop:
Vibe and staff are great, but the quality of the drink was not up to expectations considering the price. There were large chunks of cocoa powder and a lot of undissolved sugar crystals at the bottom of my iced mocha. View all feedback.
Great macchiato. Pleasant staff. White Squirrel was a real find during my stay on Queen West. There are better known establishments that could learn a lot from the barista here
After lunch I needed some coffee, and I was trying to decided between Clafouti and this little nondescript place that seemed to just be called Coffee Shop. A man was smoking outside of the Coffee Shop, so I asked him if he thought the coffee was better at the Coffee Shop. He said he thought so, and when I walked in, he put out his cigarette and followed me in. This is when I realized he was the barista there. I told him he didn 't have to put out his cigarette for me, and he said, 'Oh of course I did no worries. ' I ordered my espresso and then started getting some advice from him on good bars in Toronto. He elicited the help of a hip 30 something couple who finally gave me the most candid and useful breakdown of the city and its neighborhoods, gayborhoods and happenin ' spots. Double Espresso My chatting kept me from taking a picture right away, when the creamy head was perfect. The espresso was as rich and good as the couple 's breakdown of the city for me. I still wound up wandering
A lovely and sunny little coffee shop. Most days you’ll find the regular patrons holding meetings or getting down to work. Coffee and dairy is organic. You can even get almond milk lattes (fun fact: you can thank me for this, as I used to bring in my own almond milk and request almond milk flat whites). You won’t find yogurt parfaits or fresh fruit for breakfast here, but don’t bypass the baked goods. They may look small but they are not brought in from other bakeries – they’re homemade! There are savoury stratas and breakfast empanadas or sweet muffins that rotate daily, from carrot coconut and honey bran to lemon cornmeal. In the summer, go for a scoop of Greg’s Ice Cream.

No trip to Toronto could be complete without a summer stop at White Squirrel. The shop is named after the white squirrel that roams the Trinity-Bellwoods park. I've seen him a couple times, but for a while I was sure it was a Toronto urban legend. The coffee is good, and the shop is cool. The best thing to get is the affogato by far though.
