For my birthday, my boyfriend took me to The Emerson to try their Saturday special, The Beef Wellington. As huge Gordon Ramsay fans, we were excited for the experience.

The service, ambiance, and oysters received a rating of 4.0 stars, while the food ranged from 3.0 to 4.0 stars. However, the lack of signage outside the restaurant is worth noting with a finger-wag.

Reasons to love this restaurant, from the cozy atmosphere to the friendly staff. And of course, the food is absolutely delicious. The Beef Wellington was cooked to perfection and simply melted in my mouth. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a special dining experience.

Cocktails were excellent, servers were friendly and attentive. The meatball starter and the burger was amazing! The Korean fried chicken was decent. The fried donuts were great as well! Its a cozy atmosphere. Great for a double date!

Some places somehow consistently nail "the vibe". A recent weekday dinner at the Whippoorwill is example of that ... not too many customers but the staff were cheerful and attentive, enjoying having more time to interact with the clientele. The bartender was happy to make whatever cocktail idea we could throw at him. The burgers were - as usual - phenomenal. The salad was super fresh. Ok, the mint in the cocktail was wilted but, hey, it's February. Good times. (Popular though and sometimes very busy.)
