There was a group so we had a lot of the items, and even went back for more of the Beef Tartar. Calamari, Veal, steak, mac and cheese, chips, All wonderful. And of course the cocktails, expensive but so tasty.
There are no shortage of restaurants in Toronto, as the city offers an impressive range of international foods without needing to travel abroad. You don't have to travel far to have a taste of a Sunday Roast dinner, as you can now find it at Weslodge. Situated in the heart of King Street West is Weslodge, a modern saloon-inspired restaurant by Ink Entertainment. Weslodge is pretty distinguishable by its illuminated, slab-lettered marquee lights and large yellow doors. Once inside, you are welcomed into a large space furnished with cutting-edge design and decor.
I dont often post reviews but this place is awesome. Best interior and vibe I've experienced in Canada at any restaurant. The service is over the top (in a good and non intrusive way). The staff were all having fun and we felt like family. Steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were amazing and diverse. Well done to everyone at Weslodge!!!
Despite the upscale saloon environment, their menu is more adventurous than steak and potatoes. There’s items from the sea and non-American risottos; of course, there’s still beef, but it’s braised and served with jus. <br/ <br/ During Winterlicious $38), I’m happy to see their special price fixe menu includes renditions of their normally available dishes, such as the smoked trout and crisp potato cake starter. It’s a superb dish, the fish cooked through but still having the smoked flavour and aroma, which is balanced out with thinly sliced cucumbers and tangy crème fraiche. The potato base is not the shredded pancake or latkes version, rather a square of non-creamy potato gratin that flakes apart just like the fish. <br/ <br/ The braised beef cheek was prepared to my liking: fork tender yet still has a meaty texture and just enough fat for moisture. Generally I’m skeptical about fruit sauces, but Weslodge’s huckleberry version had an appropriate level of fruitiness to cut against beef’s richness without
Great place for drinks, I was not really happy with the food though . We had ordered 3 mains : fish with mussels and sauce which was fresh and light, fried chicken which was slightly sweet but was cooked really well. And last and least favourite of mine was the the pork with mussels, it came with a dark sauce which was cold and I really didn't enjoy. <br/ The drinks Alchemist and gentleman's was great. <br/ <br/ 1 point goes to the date cake with ice cream that was heavenly
