This dinner stays open 24 hours a day. Great for people who like eggs. I wrote a haiku -- If you were a potato -- you would be a fry salty hard exterior but tender inside View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Vesta Lunch:
The appearance of this place is a staple of the neighbourhood, and is often used in movie shoots. The food is basic greasy spoon style. I've eaten here a few times and there is nothing to write home about. If someone can in and updated...More View all feedback.
You feel like you’ve stepped into a time capsule. Old school menu, friendly service, facing the kitchen, it’s all there. The food is inexpensive and the portions are great. A lot of these greasy spoons skimp on the coffee, but not here. The coffee is 5 stars! I hope this place doesn’t change.
This restaurant is the top spot in the city for breakfast, especially known for their delicious bacon and eggs.
I have been coming to Vesta Lunch with my girlfriend for almost a year, usually about once or twice a week. I have dined alone for about 8 years and with others as well. Many people seem to misunderstand the essence of this restaurant, which is unfortunate. The restaurant has an old and slightly worn look, but that is part of its charm. Contrary to what some may say, the owners are Colombian and operate it as a family business. They even had a Colombian food tent during the Dundas Street Festival. The hygiene standards are like most other restaurants, with the chefs washing dishes and their hands. The food may not always be perfect, but it is prepared with love and care. The owners consider themselves a family and treat their customers as such. I have been offered free food, coffee, or drinks on at least three occasions because they recognize me. Once I forgot my wallet at home and they told me not to worry. I won't deny that the restaurant has its flaws like any other business, but it is not trying to be a Michelin star restaurant. What it does provide is a nostalgic atmosphere, with a family that loves their customers, serves food that may remind you of home-cooked meals - sometimes a hit and sometimes a miss. What you pay for at Vesta Lunch is the atmosphere, the experience, and often some great food. What you receive in return is much more than these three things combined, making it a place worth preserving for many years to come. It is a unique dining experience that cannot be replaced.
This restaurant offers a truly wonderful experience with great prices, delicious food, and exceptional service.
We came over Vesta Lunch, and it seemed like the only place that was open for the morning, next to a cute little coffee shop and other restaurants that do not open until noon. We went in and we were greeted by a beautiful gentleman who manned the kitchen, he was alone, but nevertheless served us well. I ordered the “Eggs any style” like the other sandwiches, we were the first there, so we go our food as soon as it was done, began to enjoy our food when some people started rolling for brunch. I don't know what it is to eat at Diners, specifically this, but it has definitely made me feel at home, cooked from the cook, to the room and a simple home like meal. It may look like a simple diner, but there is certainly more to it, it felt like my father was cooking for me when I woke a child in the morning. We saw the Gentleman cook for other customers after completing our own meal and the burger also caught my friends eye, we wish we were ordered to go haha. Overall experience, sometimes you have to pass all fantasies things that other places go out everything to make simple meals, no fear to overthrow the chef/server, but be friendly, it is a small space, but that is what gives the diner charm, but you also have a possibility to dine outside the diner during this time. In any case comes again for more!!
