Fixed price lunch was fantastic!! I had Greek salad, steak and creme brûlée’s!! Service was excellent and food even better. Can’t rate this place high enough. Given that it was lunch and they were packed, very commendable and close walk to U of T! View all feedback.
What Jean Bourgeois doesn't like about Valens Restaurant:
Recently, I had the pleasure of dining with 5 friends again for lunch at Valens. No disappoint here! The staff is pleasant and attentive. No mistakes in serving even with a party of 6. The meal arrived hot, well plated and delicious! The location makes it easy to visit the AGO after and walk off some of those scrumptious calories. View all feedback.
This is a small restaurant with a big heart. Good outside seating for a sunny summer day lunch. Wide menu choices, generous portions of good food, served by a world class young waitress. She was alone and covering multiple tables with the skill of a pro and a simply exceptional personality. Both the food and service were deserving of a good review on their own; the combination of the two put this in a more exclusive class.
My wife and I have eaten here twice now. Great little spot. Food is great portions are good and service is great. A definite spot to go with family or any other occasion.
Recommend reservations! We arrived and had to wait 20 minutes as we didn't have reservations. We were seated on the patio and enjoyed attentive service and delicious menu options from the Summerlicious Menu! The pace of the meal was perfect! Would return and would recommend friends.
Patio outside is great!!!Food is wonderful:escargots with creamy mushroom sauce,Lamb shank with red sauce ,mashed potatoes, brocolli, lava chocolate cake and pinot grigio white from Niagara!!!prices a bit high!
We chanced on this restaurant on a quiet Monday night and liked it so much we went back two days later. Their prix fixe dinners are a great value: three courses for only $28 Canadian, with a wide selection of entrees. Of particular note were the green lentil soup, Caesar salad, and lovely grilled salmon accompanied by a generous serving of perfectly cooked vegetables. There's also a good choice of individual pizzas. We can recommend the Sambuca, which included artichokes, olives, and arugula--an unlikely but intriguing mixture. Adding to the dining experience were the unfailingly friendly and efficient wait staff. All in all, we were very pleased.
