The food is great, but I asked for my vindaloo to be extra hot and they held back; it was medium at best. I have this dish a lot, and this wasn't hot by any stretch. It was delicious though. The service was a problem. It wasn't busy, but I had to ask servers to please take our order. It took a while for any drinks to come. What Krystel Medhurst dislikes about Utsav:
I cannot tell you about the food. Made a reservation on open table for 215pm on a busy Saturday in July. I checked on google as well and confirmed their hours. I got there with some out of town guests and the were closed. I emailed them and open table, no response. Not going to bother with them. View all feedback.

On a business trip, looking for some amazing food, Utsav hit the spot. The Prawn Vindaloo was the perfect level of spice and paired with the garlic naan and a Bira Lager, it was amazing! Recommend this place to anyone coming to the Toronto area. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner

Always outstanding. Great service, excellent quality of food and nice ambiance.
What a wonderfully pleasant surprise! This small treasure is tucked downstairs in a small center in the vibrant Yorkville area. The food was perfectly prepared and excellently seasoned. The portions are generous and modestly priced. As, it seems everywhere in the neighborhood, the building owner wants to demolish and put up a high rise residential tower, I hope that the restaurant will still be there when we return to Toronto. If they are forced to relocate, I hope they keep the name so we can enjoy another great meal.
We also ended up with far more rice than needed, which was wasted, as they didn't recommended otherwise. The biggest issue was that it took about half an hour to get our bill and we were late for our show. Great food. Could be bolder if the customer requests it. Need to improve the attentiveness of staff. Would go back regardless.
An almost hidden place just off of Yorkville Ave, this restaurant is a gem. I had the chicken korma, basmati, and garlic naan with a gin and tonic. Was stuffed and had leftovers. Server was lovely and attentive but didnt hover too much. Delicious food, generous portions, great service.

The Indian food is quite good, and the atmosphere is lovely, making it a great place to dine. The location is also very convenient.
One of the best Indian restaurants in town! The chicken tikka masala is incredibly delicious and affordable. I highly recommend it!
The butter chicken was incredibly tender with a delightful hint of sweetness, accompanied by roti and lentils.

We had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our party of three savored dishes such as butter chicken, chicken saag, chicken tikka, lamb korma, rice, naan, onion bhaji, and rice pudding for dessert. Each dish was fresh and absolutely tasty.
I tried the saag paneer and it was delicious with a flavorful tarka. I highly recommend this dish and plan to try something new on my next visit.
I ordered the butter chicken for takeout and was disappointed to find that it only came with the chicken curry and no rice or naan. I paid $20 and expected a more complete meal. Additionally, there were no napkins or cutlery provided in the bag. Despite these issues, the service when I picked up my order was friendly and I imagine dining in at the restaurant would be a great experience.
Service was great and attentive! The food was okay. Paneer tikka wasn't hot, butter chicken was sweet, the dal makhani was very heavy on
We went for an early lunch and ordered Rice, Nan, Matar Paneer and Navratna Khurma. The service was very good and on time. The Salad was nice addition on the plate at the beginning. The Matar paneer was good and Navratna Khurma can be better , but the portion was good enough. The environment was quiet and nice place to have a dine in in the downtown. I will really recommend to have a nice time over there with food.Vegetarian options: The white base for curry was less spicy and good.

I should have written a review before! I have dined inside and picked up food to go many many times! I really love their butter Chicken! They also great chicken Tandoori! I also prefer theirGarlic Butter Naan! I also enjoy their Aloo Gobi!
Set in the trendy Yorkville area of Toronto, Utsav Restaurant serves up delicious Indian food. The food is as spicy as you want it fresh; however, depending on the chef that night, it can taste a bit different but great nonetheless. The decor is simple; the staff attentive; the noise level fluctuating depending on how crowded it is.
Eating Indian solo is always a challenge, but I had a really nice meal here. Friendly attentive service and really good food. The onion kulcha was off the charts good. I very much look forward to my next visit.
This is one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. Everything on their menu is beyond delicious. They have both vegetarian and meat dishes. My favorite is paneer in spinach sauce. Butter chicken is great, too. The prices are reasonable, especially considering that it is in Yorkville, an upscale part of Toronto. Highly recommend this place!

We have loved the food and service of utsav for a good 6 years! This is our place when we long Indian food. Their dishes are packed with spices (for taste) and flavors. It is very authentic and they are consistent with their quality over the years. If you order from them, it is best to pick up or use your own delivery service. You will get an extra small treat with Mango Chutney delicious!
I am uber driver, I visited to pick up 2 orders. One was ready, whereas, otherwise was not. The way they treated me in cold weather is really a work of appreciation. They give respect to everyone.
This Indian restaurant is a hidden gem and inexpensive, especially for Yorkville! The lamb vindaloo was delicious, so tender and meaty, and the flavours are spicy and tasty. Their aloo gobi cauliflower and potatoes) is done so well, soft, textured cauliflower with a spicy curry mixed with potatoes. The butter chicken is fit for those who like their butter chicken on the sweet side. Great portion sizes and really great service. Looking forward to our next visit. We got take out and everything travelled really well and tasted just like in the restaurant. The naan was not quite the same since it cooled down but that is understandable.
Utsav is one of the best Indian restaurants in Toronto and located in Yorkville. The chef has over 14 years of experience in making fine dinning dishes. For dinner we tried, the samosas as appetizers is crispy and the filling is tastefully light on spices. Main dishes for vegetarians is matar paneer mushroom dish. Dal Makhni lentils red kidney beans is flavourful creamy. And the eggplant bharata is nice simple. Naan bread is soft. Mango chutney is sweet tangy. Takeout is packed well.
Great culinary experience! Delicious and spicy Bharta Auberginen-Curry and rich tasting butter garlic naan! Good portions. The food was also presented on the cutting board. Cosy restaurant interior and friendly attentive service. Great location in the heart of Yorkville-Toronto, but with menu prices not as high as you can expect for this area!

Lamb and fish preparations were excellent, as was the aloo gobi. Enjoyed the peshawari naan and tandoori rotis too. Restaurant is intimate and does get noisy when full.
The food was very tasty. I recommend the Parmigiano veal. Our server was personable and helpful with the menu. Since it was NYE, I was nervous about the seats available, but my wife and I were in a cabin that was comfortable enough for two other guests. The prices were very reasonable, but the food didn't suffer. All around a great experience and a great, unpretentious neighborhood restaurant.
