The Strath - Toronto
The Strath
Description
The Strath Pub offers a variety of options for both casual dining and business lunches. While some dishes received mixed reviews, such as the fish and chips being hit or miss, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The pub is a nice alternative to noisier establishments, with a good selection of beers and decently priced menu items. The service is generally good, with attentive staff who make patrons feel welcome. Breakfast may be a bit expensive, but it is tasty and served in a buffet style. Overall, The Strath Pub is a reliable choice whether for a meal or just a drink in a relaxing setting.

Gord and I had supper before the Toronto Rock game this evening at The Strath Pub. Roger and his dad, Ben, went to the game with us and met us at the pub.<br/ <br/ Gord ordered lemon pepper wings with a side Caesar salad. He really liked the wings.<br/ <br/ Roger and Ben ordered a burger and fries. They said their meal was good and both finished everything.<br/ <br/ I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Crunch sandwich (with no cheese or lettuce). I've had it before and it was delicious!<br/ <br/ Sean was our server and he treated us to some cheesecake. I'm not a fan of cheesecake so Gord ate mine. He said it was very good.<br/ <br/ As always, Sean and Tony (who was bartending) took excellent care of us.

I met up with some close friends on a Friday night at Strath Pub, located in the basement of a hotel near Royal York. We all work in downtown and were looking for a simple, cozy atmosphere to unwind without the need for a trendy hotspot. The pub had a laid-back vibe, reminiscent of hanging out in a friend's basement with a pool table and bar. They offered a variety of popular beer brands in bottle, half pint, and pint sizes. I enjoyed a Sleeman's Honey Brown and a pint of Harps. For food, we ordered Calamari ($9.95) and a Combo Platter ($39.95) which included pizza, fries, breaded shrimp, samosas, and chicken balls. The platter was split into two plates for sharing among our group of five. While the calamari was average, the samosas and pizza were quite delicious. The samosas had a nice spice to them and the pepperoni on the pizza was tasty. The relaxed atmosphere allowed us to unwind, reminisce, and joke around as if we were back in high school.
Tonight, we had dinner at The Pub. I decided to go with my usual order of Frank's chicken wings and fries. The wings were decent but not fantastic. Unfortunately, the fries were cold so I requested a fresh batch. The carrots were not very fresh either, indicating that my meal had been waiting for a while. My companion, Gord, ordered the Buffalo Chicken Crunch, which he had tried before. He thought it was okay, but mentioned that the Thousand Island dressing was a bit overwhelming. Our server, Joanna, took good care of us during our meal. The atmosphere at The Pub reminded me of a cozy legion, nothing too fancy but comfortable.
Before the Toronto Rock game this evening, we had supper at The Pub. It's been a while since we'd been there. I've only had wings there. This evening I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Crunch sandwich without lettuce and no slaw. Gord's had it before but I haven't. It was really good and I'd get it again. Gord ordered fish and chips. He gave me a small piece of the fish and it was really good. Other than charging us for another table's meal and a beer, our servers took good care of us.
