What User doesn't like about The Beaver Cafe:
Interesting menu selections. Tends towards comfort foods. The day I was there, I had a lovely lamb stew. Found the service to be disinterested/distracted. The guy seemed more interested in chatting with a guy near his counter than looking at us directly. Any questions we had were answered, but always with the sense we were a distraction from something more interesting. Would go back again. Good food, good value. View all feedback.
Lovely atmosphere so could have stayed much longer enjoying good coffee and delicious food. Excellent value for $$ Good choice of music and a relaxed friendly place.
The Beaver is a small cafe/ bar that is LGBTQ friendly. At night it's a bar that often is a hot local scene. But during the day they serve great food with little to work with. The brunch menu has some amazing items. I get cravings for their Breakfast Burrito it's so good, at $11.00. Their soups are incredible and the Huevos Rancheros ($13), is also great. There's unique Baked French Toast ($13), as well served with real whipped cream, maple syrup and berries. The menu is also very vegan/ veggie friendly, with a tofu burrito. The big breaky's come with a side salad that's always fresh and tastefully dressed. It a amazes me that this place doesn't have a line up out the door, but I'm glad there's room on a Sunday at 11:00 am for my friend and I. The Drake and the Gladstone seem to garner more attention, probably for the hype and better decor, but if you want great food for a great price, do the Beaver.
I really enjoy this place. Stopped by for coffee after an art show nearby. Had 2 Americanos for a super reasonable price, barkeep was friendly and service was also great. VERY interesting wallpaper! Will come back for dinner.
The server Michelle was very knowledgeable about the menu and bar and gave good recommendations including about the cub party later. Very natural
