I am extremely disappointed with this restaurant. The Hockey sushi combo and edamame I ordered were bland and lacking in flavor. I suspect they may be using MSG as I now have a severe headache. On top of that, the prices have increased by 10%. This restaurant used to be much better. I have no intention of coming back.
I used to frequent this restaurant about 10 years ago, but have since tried other Japanese restaurants. Occasionally, I will have lunch here when I am in the area. It is a decent local Japanese sushi spot that caters to a wide audience. It appears to have the same owner all this time. Lately, I have been getting takeout from here and rediscovering my love for it. They offer online ordering through Just Eats, and reportedly deliver, although I have not tried it. During my last takeout lunch, I ordered a dragon roll and sushi salad roll. Yesterday, for dinner, I ordered the Makimono set B, dragon roll, and Toronto roll. Unfortunately, the green dragon roll in the Makimono set was missing the avocado on top, which was disappointing. Despite this mishap, the sushi is decent and reasonably priced for a quick meal option.
I ordered from Sushi Time through Skip the Dishes, but I wish I had checked Yelp first. I usually don't write reviews, but this order really disappointed me. I ordered a 60-piece platter, but there was no description on the website or Skip the Dishes. I assumed it would include specialty rolls, but it was mostly vegetable rolls with various random veggies like carrots, pickled veggies, and even onions?! I didn't expect perfection for $66, but it seemed like they were using up old veggies in these rolls. The only specialty roll was a California roll, not the standard dynamite roll. The rolls with just salmon or tuna were bland. After taxes, the platter cost $75 for bland maki rolls and random veggie rolls. It was a waste of money and time. Avoid ordering from here if you want decent sushi.
I went to this restaurant for their dinner special looking for a change of pace. I ordered a Chicken Teriyaki which was decent. The same cannot be said about their washroom interior. But when I received the bill I was displeased to find that they had overcharged me stating that they had given me a special combo in addition to the Chicken Teriyaki that I ordered. The dinner special menu had no mention at all of any combo or additional charges nor was I informed of any combos I would receive. This was a scandalous move and I won't be returning to this place as it lacks intergrity.
