Was Ferry van Tichelen at Sunset Grill a mag?
We had a team lunch at the Sunset Grill last week, and everyone had a wonderful time. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying the blueberry cheesecake French toast—it’s a must-have! The atmosphere was pleasant, and both the owners and staff were friendly and polite. We will definitely return! What Sibyl Yost dislikes about Sunset Grill:
Services: Good, friendly. bit slow atmosphere: Very loud, not enough space at times hot Food: bland, cold, nothing you cant do at home. Felt bad after not seeing each other for 9 years...friends from out of town were very disappointed.. Maybe next time. View all feedback.
Always great food and friendly service - lots of parking available - service is quick regardless of whether you are eating in or doing takeout - takeout order was not exactly what I ordered - 2 ham and cheese omelets - one has extremely little ham in it but still a good omelet
Came here for a breakfast with my spouse. Service is relatively fast and efficient. Had the crab cakes eggs benedict which was actually pretty delicious, and seemed to contain real crab, highly recommend. Lots of choices for breakfast and reasonably priced.
One Saturday lunch time we found ourselves close to the Sunset Grill and decided to give it a try, we were seated by the window but found ourselves baking in the heat of the sun so moved to a table in the shade. The restaurant was about two thirds filled, my husband an I ordered a tea and coffee first, while making up our minds what to eat for lunch. The waitress came I ordered a bagel with smoked salmon but requested a slice of tomato instead of the pot of cream cheese, without hesitation I was informed there were NO SUBSTITUTIONS, I could get the cream cheese and then leave it on the plate if I didn't want it, what a waste of a) my money and b) food, all because they wouldn't SUBSTITUTE the pot for a measley slice of tomato. The waitress didn't even say, I'll ask the person in charge if we can do that, just to show willing. She was adamant about it, so I told her I would eat elsewhere later, my husband agreed it was poor that a restaurant wouldn't swap one small item for a slice of tomato and decided also not to order, the waitress went promptly up to the cashier and told her about us, how do I know because I read the cashier's lips, " which table ? ", so I pointed to this table as she scanned around the room for the offenders who dared to request a tomato slice. You may ask why it was so important to me that I have a tomato slice instead of a pot of cream cheese and that I wasn't just being a pain, I cannot eat any fat, it could result in serious illness or worse for me to do so, I'm waiting on a hospital surgical list as we speak. Needless to say we will not be returning to the Sunset Grill ever.

Not recommended. My husband and I encountered a freezing blast of cold air every time the door opened. Since the restaurant doesn’t have a back entrance for deliveries, and most deliveries happen during breakfast hours, this completely spoiled our experience. This issue is easily predictable, especially in a city with a cold winter climate. Most restaurant owners recognize this and install a vestibule at the entrance to shield customers from continuous gusts of cold air. Given that this restaurant has shown no consideration for the comfort of its patrons, we will not be returning.
