10/10!!! We dined with Sugar Kane on September 24th for a birthday celebration and we were NOT disappointed. The food was AMAZING , ambiance was AMAZING, service was AMAZING, live entertainment was AMAZING. There was a medical emergency with someother guests while we were at the restaurant and the staff jumped in and assisted right away; the owners are extremely friendlyand made us feel at home. Sugar Kane is definitely worth checking out!
Absolutely loved this little restaurant on the Danforth. The atmosphere was lit! The music was pumping with their DJ. All staff and owners were super friendly and accommodating. We sat outside and ordered apps and dessert. Food was delicious! The onlynegative I would say is the service is slow. Drinks came out 2seconds before our apps. It was hot outside and we needed thosecool drinks. Water came with no ice and no straws. But other than those minor issues, we had an amazing time! Owners came tochat with us which was also nice. I will definitely return and work my way through their menu
Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, phenomenal drinks food! Please go here. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for making our Father's Day/early Birthday celebration so memorable!
This place is fantastic! An excellent Caribbean fusion restaurant. We tried the Jerk Chicken Fettuccine and the Cajun Chicken Penne, both served with an optional shrimp skewer for an extra charge. The food was delicious—full of flavor but not too spicy. The drink menu is impressive, offering Caribbean twists on classic cocktails. I really enjoyed my experience and can’t wait to come back. I highly recommend this spot. The vibe, the food, the atmosphere—everything is perfect!
Sugarkane offers Caribbean cuisine inspired by the rich cultural backgrounds of Trinidad and Grenada, catering to both vegetarians like us and meat lovers alike. We were pleasantly surprised by the warmth of our waiter and the beautifully crafted, flavorful dishes. If something isn't at your table, you'll surely catch a glimpse of it at nearby tables—and you'll be impressed. This is truly an upscale spot where you can easily impress anyone. We enjoyed sitting in their charming patio, equipped with modern, comfortable chairs, tables, and umbrellas—perfect for those who aren't quite ready to fully embrace one of summer’s greatest gifts. Once you visit Sugarkane, other places might not live up to your expectations. There's a convenient restroom downstairs for customers, ample space for bicycles while you dine, and plenty of room between tables. Our experience was fantastic. We started with a low-sugar lemonade that I believe had hibiscus and cloves—a unique and refreshing twist that I really enjoyed. We then tried the mango salad, which was truly impressive. For the main course, we ordered the Soul Bowl. I initially expected a soup but instead received a wonderful mix of chickpeas, candied yam, delicious breadfruit, rice, red cabbage, and more. While I might have preferred the cabbage cooked, the dish was still a delightful treat. Prices here are reasonable and not at all inflated, and the service is excellent. I’ve heard they have live music on Saturdays as well. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for the wonderful experience, Sugarkane!
