We bumped into this cozy restaurant whilst exploring St. Clair West / Corso Italia. The food was delicious, we had two pasta dishes - a traditional bolognese and calabrese - very tasty. Staff was friendly and relaxed. View all feedback.
What Paola Conti doesn't like about Stazione Centrale:
I came here during Salsa Fest and ordered two shots- sambuca and tequila- which came in tiny plastic shot glasses and my bill was over $20. Little steep for 2 smaller than average shots… View all feedback.
Stopped by here for Father's Day Lunch and had an absolutely fabulous mealFood was delicious with a great combination of tastes.
Down a starLately the wine has been a bit offAlso I noticed that a dish I used to eat, the big G (a gnocchi dish) has beef stock in it.
I like this little Italian spotIt serve simple traditional Italian fareI ordered the 'Big G' (gnocchi with mushroom) and it was excellent.
Following up on a Private Party we had attended, we decided to try out a meal in the middle of the St Clair West area. So lots of competition, which is good for clients. The Service was enthusiastic and very flexible ensuring we had wines we really enjoyed. we decided on a mix of appetizers and pasta to share and each dish was interestingly different with a nice take on traditional Italian cuisine. Our only complaint was that both the salumi and the meatballs were off the menu - we had wanted to check whether they were as good as we had remembered from the party. We will be back.
My daughter always knows the new restaurants, trends, events in the city. She and her hubbie happened into Stazione a month or so ago and have become loyal followers. So we tried it last night and absolutely agree. Their bruschetta is perky, saucy and very fresh, different from others. I'm not sure if it's the olives, spices, or some other ingredients that makes it sparkle. But it marks the beginning of a very tasty meal. The bread is almost crispy and the tomato mixture on top memorable. My soninlaw, sometimes a fussy eater, has his bolognese, not on the menu , but they are willing to go beyond to satisfy the customer. This is his regular treat. I order La Stella Pasta which is mozzarella cheese, fresh basil and tomatoes . The cheese is grey, tomatoes and basil delicious, not fancy but satisfying and perfectly prepared. My husband orders the carbonara topped with an egg. He approves. And because they are out of the gnocchi, they do a gorgeous mushroom ( which are huge and fresh) sauce on pasta. Excellent. I like that pastas come in two sizes. The smaller portion was perfect for me, but all others at the table ordered the bigger size. Their tiramisu is perfect, reminding me of La Fenice's when the original order made it from scratch. I'm interested in seeing if Stazione maintains its quality if it becomes popular. Others on the strip also set out well but lost their initial bite. Time will tell.
