I think I've reviewed this place before, but I must again write about how great their food is! Always have great specials. Last night we enjoyed surf and turf, consisting of steak, shrimp, fries and salad for $9.99! Wings for .70 each, and a bowl of their great beef barley soup. Sooooo good! Also available last night was 3pc chicken, salad, fries for $8.99 and corned beef sandwich and fries for $7.99. (Had sandwich b... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Southside Johnny's Bar & Grill:
The wing specials are the only reason to go and the wings are good. However, if you want wings you are better off to go to Sloppy Joe's a few blocks to the east. The patio is nice in on a sunny afternoon and in the evening. The music can be loud, inside and out. It's small, so if you'rew catching a band there it can be packed. View all feedback.
I have been here a couple of times and always left unimpressed. The last time I was there was to meet up with friends and listen to a band, have drinks and food. The servers was irritated and there was a man that I 'm assuming is the manager or the owner that I have witnessed calling customers names behind their back and glaring at them. I would be their long enough to witness nothing out of the ordinary by the customers. There was one incident where a man fell from black ice when leaving this establishment, and someone called for help and the same man who I think is the manager/owner yelled he is a drunk! and refused to call ambulance as he didn 't want any affiliation of ambulances attending the establishment. A very poor impression of this place indeed. They don 't accept debit cards and you have to use their bank machine that they own, charge very high fees to get cash and expect to get tip when they already charged a fee to use the bank machine. That also turned me off of this place and never went back.
My friend Gord and I had a late lunch at Southside Johnny's. It was a beautiful day, so we initially chose to sit on the patio. However, when our food arrived, we were swarmed by wasps, so we reluctantly moved inside along with other patrons. We both decided to order wings. I got mine with medium sauce and fries, which was a satisfying meal that I would definitely order again. Gord opted for lemon pepper wings with a side salad, and he also enjoyed his meal and would order it again. Although I'm not a huge fan of salads, Gord's looked appetizing! Our server Yasmin did a fantastic job despite the busy restaurant, as she was constantly on the move.
Best darn nachos I ever had. Great service. Cold beer. Great Saturday afternoon blues. What more does one need.
I have always been curious about this place whenever I pass by it. I finally decided to visit on a Sunday afternoon. It has a bit of a divey atmosphere, which I actually really enjoyed. It felt like a true neighborhood bar, with regulars gathered at the bar watching football. The vibe was cozy and cool. The beer selection wasn't the best, but it was cold and served quickly by a friendly server, so no complaints there. We decided to order wings and fries as a snack, and they were fantastic! The fries were especially outstanding - perfectly crisp and golden. The wings were also great, albeit a bit heavily sauced. They have a nice stage for live entertainment on weekends and an open mic night on Sundays, which I am looking forward to checking out. I would even consider returning just for another order of those amazing fries!
Horrible service from the waiter (possibly the owner or manager? . He was extremely rude. It might have been excusable if it was busy, but the place was empty. We will definitely not be visiting this restaurant again.
