Contribute FeedbackSatay on the Road offers a mixed dining experience, with some dishes falling short while others shine. The Pad Thai is disappointing, with a sweet and ketchup-like taste while the chicken dishes have mixed reviews. However, the service is decent and pricing is on the higher side. On the other hand, some patrons have enjoyed dishes like Thai Hot Sour Soup and Nuer Phad Kraphao. The bento boxes and sushi are popular choices, providing good value for your money. Overall, Satay on the Road offers a range of Asian cuisine options, but some dishes may not meet expectations.
Food is spotty, sometimes good, other times so so. Prices have really climbed so the unstable quality makes you question whether to go back.
Came here on a Sunday for early dinner with my girlfriends. Sat on the patio since today's weather was really nice. Staff were very polite and friendly. Hand sanitizer available. Plexiglass counter. We ordered a lot of food and it was all served hot, fresh, and delicious. I love this place because there are a lot of gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options bursting with the flavours of south east Asia. We ordered: 1. Papaya salad to start. My first time having papaya salad as opposed to mango salad. This was a nice refreshing change for the last Sunday of summer 2020. 2. Two large bowls of Coconut chicken soup for the table. It was piping hot, so creamy, and the chicken was tender. 3. Basil fried rice. Fragrant taste of basil in every bite! Packed with fresh crisp veggies. 4. Crispy beef. So savoury, saucy, and crispy at the same time. Great texture and contrast! 5. Samble shrimp. Table favourite. Gone within minutes! 6. Spicy Thai noodle. Al-dente with a creeping chilli heat. Taste of fresh basil as well. 7. Additional extra bowls of rice 8. Refreshing Mango white claws on ice for the table. And a few cans of nestea. Overall, delicious food. Great service. Beautiful patio. Lots of space for social distancing. Reasonable prices for the huge portions! Would definitely recommend for dinner or lunch!
Yumm yumm yummmy friendly staff delicious food. They were fast and efficient not affecting the quality of their product.
Came here to take advantage of their lunch specials which are offered on weekends too); these come with a complimentary spring roll and green tea, the latter you must request. I had the thai chili chicken lunch special $8.95 before tax tip) and expected it to taste sweet with a hint of spice. However, it literally looked AND tasted like chicked doused in soy sauce. My spoonful of rice to chicken ratio was basically 3:1. I see they tried to make it spicy by adding full pieces of chili but, even the aftertaste was just.salty. Not to mention the chicken was dry. Hearty serving of it though, which would have been a plus had it tasted better. In general though, their servings are quite large in relation to their price which is great! The spring roll was good though: crispy, hot, quite long, and loaded with veggies. Service was quick but, especially for an incredibly spacious venue, there weren't many people dining in. Might come back and try something else off of the menu or just get spring rolls)...
I've heard negative reviews about this place, but I wouldn't say my experience was really negative, just average. Coconut chicken soup is fine, but unusually sweet, didn't seem very authentic. Mango and sticky rice, delicious. Malaysian Curry, fair. Service was standard, nothing bad about it, nothing amazing about it. Just alright Thai food.
