The atmosphere is great for groups, with attentive service and quiet seating options available for book clubs. While some have encountered issues with unimpressive food quality or unwelcome guests (like cockroaches), others have enjoyed fantastic dishes like steak and cheesecake. The restaurant also accommodates guests with mobility issues with convenient parking below. Overall, mixed reviews leave diners unsure of what to expect, but many agree that The Pickle Barrel is worth a return visit for specific dishes.
Always my favorite. Who can eat out for 2 less than $50 and have appitizers, drinks, entrees AND dessert?!?<br/ <br/ you can...at the PB!
It's a big restaurant, with a big menu, and lots of variety. I ordered a very interesting bunless burger with sundries tomatoes and goat cheese. It was great, or would have been when it was warm. By the time it arrived at the table it was almost cold, unappetizing and actually rather scary when ground beef is involved. My friends had a chicken pesto fettuccine, which was much better. The service was passable, but we had to wait a long time to get our bill.
It's stayed from it's delicatessen roots but isn't bad. Reliable standby if we can't are in the neighbourhood and can't think of anywhere better to eat.
Good. Menu is long and I like selection! I ended up on my fav sandwhich, the reuben. It was pretty good and the service was good. I would defenitely go back when I'm in T.O. again.
Enough to taste but not delicious.. Had their satay appetizers with 3 different sauces- shrimp, chicken beef on a stick. It was nicely put together with pineapple, cut-up lettuce and crunchy sticks. The signature dishes was enough to taste but not delicious. Cocktails comes with pretty accouterments. The best of all are their cleverly prepared fancy mini deserts. Come in after 6pm you can get good seats, otherwise, suffer in tiny seats next to the loud chattering noise coming from the kitchen.
