I dined at The Old School for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was delicious, especially the blueberry pancakes and croissant sandwiches. Our server, John, was fabulous - he was attentive, friendly, and accommodating even when the restaurant was busy. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it! View all feedback.
What Rosamond Zboncak doesn't like about Old School:
the server were great. the food was good. but the automatic gravitation (18% was added and not mentioned, so that each finished double-tilt. shady! I was contacted by the manager who was friendly enough to reimburse us the double tipp (they offered the whole tipp, but as I said the server were great. excellent cs View all feedback.
I choose old school for brunch after an article that suggested it as top toronto brunchplatz. I don't know old school is a top brunch place, but I enjoyed my meal. the menu is limited. I had the French toast, which was rubbed as three thick slices and served with a sticky, sweet strawberry accompaniment and a big puppy game from strawberry armbee. I also ordered a side of speck that was perfectly cooked. my friend has the blueberry pancakes, which came as a big stack with blueberry compot. the service was attentive, but not intrusive. our server offered several free refills of coffee and water. this despite the fact that the restaurant was very busy. there are two small rooms inside and a beautiful terrace outside. I would suggest booking a brunch at the weekend. I did and was glad since I arrived.
On Saturday there was a late brunch. I sat on the covered terrace that has heating, so they can sit outside even in winter. I ordered the breakfast and I was fine. the mushrooms and sausages were good, but the touch was so dry....I had better touch with Dennys and mcdonald. service was very good. the server was friendly and attentive and told me to take my time and not hurry, which was very different from some restaurants in toronto, which set a 1.5 hours limit.
Brunch is always a good idea! Especially when it is as delicious as this joint. Love the concept and the food was delicious. I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
Delicious brunch for morning after our anniversary. Blueberry cheesecake was out of this world and can’t go wrong with any of the mains on the brunch menu. Particularly enjoyed the chicken and waffles.
I really enjoyed my brunch on Sunday. This was my first time at the restaurant and I loved it! We had tasty dishes, delicious mimosas and we had the best server. John Murphy made our ladies' brunch even more special with his kindness and awesome...personality. Perfect balance between excellent service, food, and ambiance.
