Terrible security. I attended a queer pride event last night and was stuck in line for an hour and a half, even though I purchased tickets weeks in advance. The security refused my friend entry because he briefly left the line to use the restroom at a nearby bar. I confirmed with the security that it was fine, and he acknowledged us waiting together. However, when my friend returned, the only guard dressed in a suit—rather than a uniform—started shoving him away and yelling that he needed to go back to the end of the line. I tried to explain the situation, but this individual began shouting at me as well, threatening to deny us entry and claiming he was in charge. It took us 30 minutes of trying to reason with him before we finally got in. When we were searched, a security guard snatched a lighter from my hand and tossed it without asking for my permission. I questioned her about it, and she simply replied, "it’s the rules." Frustrated, I pressed her about why she didn't ask first, but she offered no response. I can't help but wonder if this is how security treats patrons at straight events or if it was just a special attitude for the pride celebration. My night was completely ruined; I arrived at 11 PM and didn’t get in until 1 AM. Despite having bought tickets in advance, the first floor was nearly empty, suggesting they were just keeping people outside for no reason and treating us poorly. The demeanor of the security staff felt undeniably discriminatory. Food: 1, Service: 1, Atmosphere: 1.
I visited Nest for a friend's birthday and arrived ahead of my group, being second in line while I waited. When my friends arrived, the security staff member was quite rude. Despite my assurance that I was with them, he dismissed me, suggesting I just wanted to take their booth. I found his attitude unsettling. Even if I had just met them, his response felt unnecessary, especially since he ended up letting me switch lines anyway. On a positive note, most of the bottle girls and bartenders were friendly, though one seemed uninterested, which was disheartening. The music was fantastic, with a Brazilian DJ that kept us dancing until our feet were sore. The restrooms were clean, and the attendant inside was warm and welcoming. It would be great if the club could improve its air conditioning or ventilation, as it got a bit stuffy.
Nest is an energetic and relaxed spot that’s perfect for a fun night out. Whether you’re using a fake ID or a real one (if you’re over 19), this place invites you to celebrate as if it were 2099. The best part about it all is the crowd. As seen in the slightly misty photos, everyone is clearly enjoying themselves and dancing, which is what nightlife is all about. It felt like a community of 100 to 1,000 people celebrating life together, before heading home and hoping for the best. The music was fantastic, with every song hitting just right; the bass vibrated through the floor like an explosion, and the light show was incredible. Although I did face some rejection, I still cherished every moment spent dancing with friends. A special shoutout to the staff at Nest for making my experience memorable! I especially appreciated the large, muscular bouncer—he seemed really cool. Thank you to the wonderful people I partied with; you truly made the night great!
