Mandi Afandi - Toronto
Mandi Afandi
Description
Located in a bustling plaza, this Arabic restaurant offers a culinary journey that celebrates Gulf cuisine. Diners rave about generous portion sizes, particularly the Haneedh and Moussaka, alongside the flavorful Zurbian rice, served with succulent lamb. The vibrant decor and inviting atmosphere enhance the experience, making it a great spot for families. However, service can be slow, with occasional mix-ups, like late-served soups and missing items. Despite some dishes being excessively oily, the fresh ingredients and friendly staff contribute positively to the overall experience. For those craving authentic lamb dishes, this restaurant is a worthwhile visit.

The staff is very friendly, and the meals are quite substantial. The fish dish is really good. If you enjoy Gulf cuisine, you will definitely appreciate the offerings here.
If you are missing the authentic lamb dishes and the aromatic rice, you can absolutely enjoy what this place offers! The ambiance and the songs played are representative of the food origin!
We ordered Haneedh, Mansaf, Lamb soup, Moussaka, a Mango drink, and a Yogurt drink. Each dish was large enough to serve 2 or 3 people, so I recommend ordering the mini sizes if you want to try several different items. The meats were fresh and well-cooked, making it worth the experience, especially the Haneedh, which was our favorite. The Mansaf was good as well, though I had higher expectations based on the appealing menu photo. We really enjoyed the Moussaka, especially with the traditional bread that accompanied it. However, next time, I won’t spend $6.99 on the Mango or Yogurt drink; I’ll opt to sample more side dishes instead. Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth trying. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and I loved the Arabic decor and ambiance.
