What Mike Walpole dislikes about Lao:
I really want to like this place. It 's close by, they keep decent hours, and the staff are really wonderful and nice, but the food is always disappointing, not terrible, but not that enjoyable. Their pad thai is soggy, I know that this is supposed to be saucy but I just don 't like it. Maybe if the sauce was thicker? The fried rice looks the same as when I make it at home, and I 'm not good at making it. I 've tried... View all feedback.
Whenever I need a pick-me-up, I go to this place for the best bowl of soup. I am obsessed with their Souk Gai (an incredibly flavorful Lao-style tangy and spicy soup with garlic, chilies, green onion, and cilantro), as well as their Veggie Fried Rolls. The owner is also the nicest, warmest, and most caring person.

My boyfriend and I recently dined at this restaurant for the first time and were greeted by a wonderful staff member. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Lits, who was very welcoming. Now, onto the food. I am a huge fan of Laotian cuisine, and I must say, this restaurant did not disappoint. The flavors were spot on, with the perfect balance of salt and spice. The sticky rice was cooked perfectly, the fried chicken was juicy and full of flavor, and the Laotian sausage was the best I have ever had. The curry was mouthwatering, and the Thai tea was a refreshing complement to the savory dishes. The sauces that accompanied the meal were fantastic, especially the Jeow Som and Jeow Bong. I would return just for the traditional sauces alone. Thank you for the excellent service, warm hospitality, and the delicious and authentic Laotian dishes. We will definitely be returning and will recommend this restaurant to all our friends and family.
This genuine gem of a restaurant does not disappoint with its flavours! Their Lao sausages are so flavourful and blisteringly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Their nam kao (crispy coconut rice) is so fragrant and full of crunch and flavour. The gentleman in FOH was friendly and attentive. Overall service was very relaxed, so don't expect a fast diner service here. But who cares when the food is this delicious?? Service: Dine in Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
