Description

Kowloon Restaurant in downtown Toronto offers decent Dim Sum, good service, and reasonable prices. The Western Cantonese dishes are tasty, and the absence of MSG is appreciated by many. The online food delivery experience was disappointing, but dining in at the restaurant is highly recommended. With a variety of delicious dishes including dumplings, spring rolls, and sizzling beef, the restaurant appeals to a wide range of tastes. A family-owned establishment with friendly service and generous portions, Kowloon is a popular spot for a satisfying meal in the heart of the city.

All of the food was delicious. Highly recommend the dumplings and the spring rolls. The sizzling beef with black bean sauce is one of the tastiest that I've had.The service was great, don't forget to ask the server about his advice regarding the stock market.

The Kowloon is a family-owned restaurant that has been on Baldwin for ages. If you go at lunch time for dim sum, the personable and polite son will take your order and within a few minutes, the hot dim sum will be brought to you - much preferable than selecting it semi-warm from a trolley. The sticky rice/BBQ pork in a lotus leaf, the fried turnip patties, and the har gow (my faves) are all delicious, the servings are very generous, and the prices are very reasonable. Every time we are in the area at noon, we drop in to say hello and enjoy their very good dim sum. Recommended!

We have now had lunch twice at Kowloon on Baldwin St. The Western Cantonese is decent and tasty. Some dishes are bit oily but the good part is that they don't seem to use MSG. Something we both react badly too. The service is good, the quality good not great and the prices reasonable. Lunch normally runs us for two between $ 25-30 depending whether we order beer or not. Overall worth the money.

I have tried Dim Sum at top restaurants in Montreal, New York, and Detroit, but this place, despite its simple decor, has the authentic traditional flavor.

This is the type of restaurant that should be shut down due to false advertising and dishonesty! If there was a negative rating, that's what I would give it.
