Met for a business lunch on the large patio. Was greeted promptly and offered a menu and tap water. The menu looked great, I ordered the Il Gatto salad (on recommendation of my companion) -- it was very nice, good portion size, good flavour.Have been told that this is a long-time establishment in the neighbourhood and is still family owned (not the case for many others). Happy to recommend as a summer patio. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Il Gatto Nero:
O local é bom, porém achamos o preço do prato caro para uma porção pequena. Nada de especial com relação ao sabor da massa que escolhemos.O sorvete e Tiramisú estavam bem gostosos. View all feedback.
On the way home and what a treat! The value here is enormous. The food is fantastic and the portions are generous. Three people ate a 2 course meal for under $70 and we all had leftovers to take home! The atmosphere is beautiful and the decor charming. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to go back. I recommend the Arancini, the pizzas are incredible and the Pesto e pinoli.
For over 5 years, it's not here anymore, and it's all the better! Patio is large and beautiful, beers are cheap, gnocchi is incredible, pizza was delicious. Didn't have room for dessert, but would go back the next time and get a few!
This was the first restaurant I tried in Toronto and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace on a beautiful evening. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, the beer was cold, and the espresso was delightful. I will definitely make a point to visit this restaurant again when I am in Toronto.
I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday with two friends. Our server was very helpful and willing to explain the menu. She also recommended a glass of red wine for one of my friends, which paired perfectly with his meal. I ordered the fried calamari and shrimp, which was incredibly tender and fresh. Overall, it was an amazing meal with fantastic service.
Cozy Italian-Canadian spot where Little Italy locals frequent. Mostly older folks who have money were here which makes sense since items on the menu are a bit expensive. The first time I ate here was 5 years ago and I had the most delicious pesto gnocchi ever. This time when I asked for the gnocchi I got something different and it wasn’t as good.
