Hendriks Restaurant Bar - Toronto

Twice in the past two weeks, I have arrived at a restaurant only to find that they did not have my reservation on file, even though I received a confirmation from OpenTable. I am disappointed with this lack of organization. Furthermore, I had noted that this visit was a special occasion (a birthday), but the restaurant made no effort to acknowledge this during the meal.

We enjoyed our meal there however we specifically asked for a booth and Hendricks came back confirming they got our message. When we got there they said they were no booths available for two people and that they were only for parties six and more. So we took a pub table that was offered to us. However, when we left and walked by the front of Hendricks restaurant we noticed on the other side of the restaurant they were many empty booths available able to take a party of two, party of four, and a party of six. They did not tell us the truth and I don’t think they even tried to put us in a booth because clearly they were not offering booths to anyone, maybe because they didn’t want to pay for the extra staff. For that reason alone they get a 3 rating and we won’t be going back there anytime soon.

This was a fantastic decision! Reservations are recommended. Upon our arrival, we were asked if we were attending a show at the CAA Mirvish theatre that evening, which we were. We were seated right away and our server promptly arrived to confirm our plans for the show. Our drink orders were taken immediately, and the specials were explained to us. Our food order was placed even before our drinks arrived. The food arrived so quickly, it was amazing! Both the food and service were outstanding. We will definitely be returning!

The restaurant is in a fantastic location and offers excellent food, service, and atmosphere! They are also considerate of food allergies and ensuring prompt service for those heading to a show.

Our service was very good -there was a small hiccup that was corrected quickly- and the food was delicious.
