Hakka WOW - Toronto
Hakka WOW
Description
Hakka Flame restaurant in the Greater Toronto Area offers a variety of Indo-Chinese favorites for those craving Hakka cuisine. The crispy beef was noted for its sweetness with an option to turn up the heat, while the shrimp manchurian came with a side of rice, although the batter was not to everyone's liking. The chicken lollipops were found to lack seasoning but provided a unique way to enjoy chicken wings. Overall, the restaurant was considered decent but did not particularly stand out compared to other options available. Some reviewers had negative experiences with the food, citing issues with taste and cleanliness, while others praised the generous portion sizes and delicious flavors that reminded them of authentic Indo-Chinese cuisine. Despite some mixed reviews, the restaurant seems to have a loyal customer base who keep coming back for the delicious food despite minor inconveniences like sticky floors.

I had to wait 45 minutes, the tables were dirty, and no one came out for a long time...I regret to say that it was not a great experience.
Sandeep and Nirjal were very polite and served delicious food. I ordered the manchurian with gravy and paneer tikka pizza, both of which were excellent. I highly recommend trying them.
Hakka Flame does all the Indo-Chinese favorites that you can expect with hakka cuisine across the GTA, so I got some of the items that you can expect to find in common on menus. This includes:1. Crispy beef: tended on the sweeter side, there was no shortage of dry red chilis if you 'd like to turn the heat up, but the meat by itself is lower on the heat scale. It was crispy as promised, and great with the sautéed julienned onions.2. Shrimp manchurian: came with a side of rice which many restaurants don 't do, so points for that. While the sauce itself was spicy and savory, I didn 't care much for the batter around the shrimp which tended a bit mushy, and so the entire dish ate a little bit monotonic in terms of texture. 3. Chicken lollipops: a staple on any hakka menu, it 's basically chicken drummets with the meat pushed all the way up on the bone allowing you a less messy way of consuming chicken wings. Battered and fried with spices. While the provided lemon wedges allowed me to cover the acid levels I 'd like, I did think there was essentially a lack of seasoning.Overall, a decent place for hakka cuisine, but it doesn 't stand out in terms of the options available.
I went to this restaurant last night and had a terrible experience. We ordered Chicken Manchurian and Hakka Fried Rice. The curry was only tasty because of the MSG added to it, and the rice tasted stale. To make matters worse, we had houseflies keeping us company during our meal. I definitely will not be returning to this place again.
