Food is very good. However, new owners and things do change. Our lunch was served on aluminum pie plates. This venue is not a diner but a casual funky lunch spot in a casual funky area in Toronto! I looked around and noticed pasta was...served in regular bowls but not our burgers. Lunch was $50 and always delicious but come on people. Aluminum ugly pie plates? View all feedback.
What Lula Bartell doesn't like about Green Eggplant Restaurant:
According to the reviews and certificate of excellence, I expected more. The food was good but not great. One thing that has to be noted is that kids' meals are really big, and servers didn't warn us when we ordered for our one-year-old baby, so...we could have avoided wasting food; the pasta dish is as big as an adult portion. Serving that day wasn't great. The atmosphere and the menu are more of a diner than of a M... View all feedback.
First and last visit! Service was great considering how busy they were. Had Greek Salad. Not bad but certainly below expectations. Two hous later, felt nauseous and threw up the entire salad. Only posting this as I think restaurant needs to check their recent stock of greens/raw veggies/feta/olives etc.
Left work downtown and we were both starving, so instead of driving home (east of the city), we stopped here for dinner. Husband was skeptical, anything with a vegetable in the name sounds too healthy . I convinced him, we had been there before, he didn't remember, but I did! And I remember being pleasantly surprised. He had the chicken Parmesan and the portions are so large, he had to take some home. He will love it again tomorrow. I had the portobello and goat cheese sandwiches with a house salad as a side. Both were delicious. We will definitely be back and I'm sure I won't get any hesitation from the husband next time, he saw the schnitzel go by and wants to be back to try it soon
A place with this big a menu always scares me, but we were pleasantly surprised.Service was friendly and efficient, and I appreciated the waiter's honesty when asking about recommendations.Burger trio was fantastic with a good portion of (albeit pretty generic) fries. Portobello burger also got thumbs up.
Best Luau Salad and Steak sandwich ever tasted. Huge chicken Parma. Friendly staff, very clean, great art to view while eating
Had dinner here on a weekday. We arrived about 5 PM and had our choice of seating either indoors or out. By 6 o'clock the restaurant was very busy with the majority of tables filled. The dining experience was completely satisfying. Bread is quickly provided with three great spreads. The salmon and rainbow trout were excellent and the service was friendly and quick even with the busy atmosphere. Highly recommend.
