I had the tenderloin which was cooked perfectly. Husband had the seafood chowder that he said, was the best he's ever had (and we've had chowder in some amazing Oceanside restaurants.)! The honey bread (made by the rooftop bees) was a neat story and also very delicious with goat cheese spread. The duck was played beautifully and 3 scoops of very tasty sorbet ended the meal. So many rich flavours I can't even describe in words. We were told to order a Negroni cocktail and it was mind-blowing. Unusual flavour but wow!

The service could be improv... read more The EPIC restaurant in the foyer of the Royal York hotel is clearly a mainstay of the area. The food is technical and well executed. The service could be improved - it took three attempts to get a simple cocktail order right, but was otherwise okay. The layout of the restaurant is quite bizarre, with a mid-height curved divider carving through the middle, seeming designed to make everyone on one side feel excluded from the other, and at the same time giving a feel that you were placed in a corridor.

The service and attention to detail is always great, Margarita and Robert remembered me after 3 years greeting me by name and also knew my favorite meal. My seafood chowder and hamburger were hot and tasty cooked to order as always.
