I visit Kensington Market quite frequently but I never knew about Cafe Unwind until a friend suggested that we go there for lunch "for a change", I was very ple... read more I visit Kensington Market quite frequently but I never knew about Cafe Unwind until a friend suggested that we go there for lunch "for a change", I was very pleasantly surprised when I walked through the door. There was a nice, relaxed atmosphere. There was music playing in the background, not too loudly so we could still have a conversation and we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff. She proceeded to tell us about the specials of the day, which changes every day. I chose a roast beef sandwich, which comes with caramelised onion, cheddar and mixed greens. It's simple and very tasty. They cook all of their meat in-house. They have a variety of different baked goods, which are also baked in-house. I tried one of their delightful chocolate chip cranberry cookies along with an Americano, which I have to say, is one of the best I've tasted in Toronto. I asked about their coffee and I was informed that the owner of the business chooses her own blend of coffee which is then roasted and delivered to the cafe and is freshly ground before each cup is made.Beats drip coffee, hands down. They serve two all day breakfast sandwiches, which I most definitely want to try. There are also a few vegetarian options on the board and most of their soups are vegetarian, it depends on the day you visit. Overall, I had a very pleasant visit and I will most definitely visit again in the very near future.
