The food was fabulous and the staff was great. We went during summerlicious and they were a little understaffed for the volume of people that were there but it was not a big deal. The friendly service and excellent food made up for the longer wait times. We both had the clam chowder which was fantastic. My husband had the steak and I had the shrimp fettucine and they were both wonderful. For dessert I had the panacotta... View all feedback.
What Shea Romaguera doesn't like about Blackod Fish & Steak House:
Didn't even get to eathe. We arrived on time for our reservation but we're told they didn't have a table. Running behind schedule and can't determine when a table will be available. The person really couldn't care, didn't seem to be any management there. We left and had a wonderful meal down the street. View all feedback.
Came here on the last day of Summerlicious. Restaurant was relatively empty and we were seated immediately when we walked in. Mind you, by the end of the meal, the entire restaurant was full to capacity. Our server was very friendly. We did not have to wait long before she came over to take our drink order. Once she brought our bottle of wine, she took our meal order right away. Bread and apps came shortly after she took our order. But she kept forgetting the water. But I don't blame her. It looked like there were only 2-3 servers for the entire restaurant and she was being called constantly by the big table on the other side of the restaurant. She came to check on us during our apps and did so consistently throughout dinner, but not in that annoyingly excessive way where some waiters do.I ordered the clam chowder and my boyfriend had the calamari. Both dishes were delicious. I kind of hoped they had filled the chowder to the top of the bowl. It was THAT flavourful! My steak was cooked to perfection and the friend onions on top added a nice texture to each bite. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp linguine. He enjoyed it. I found it a tad chewy and the pasta was extremely thick. Dessert was ok. I was hoping for the creme brulee or the tiramisu, which were the desserts on the summerlcious website. But neither was available on the menu when we arrived. We settled for a cheesecake and an apple crumble.Overall, the meal was quite worth the $38 Summerlicious price. But in looking at the regular menu, I'm not sure that I would eat at this restaurant for full price.

This restaurant was formerly called Trapper's. Went there for Summerlicious dinner, it was a good deal considering it was a 3 course dinner. The appetizers were all good, the clam chowder had a lot of clams, potatoes, etc. in it. The fried calamari was very tender, the coating though could be a bit crispier. My friend liked her beet salad as well. The steak included in this course was a very generous size. Done just the way asked for, not over or under cooked. The peppercorn sauce was slightly more salty, though it complimented the steak well, it was a peppercorn glaze. The steak came with Yukon fries, which was really good. The other entrée Ginger grilled Salmon which my friend had was juicy, but lacking a bit more gingery taste to it.Of the three desserts, Chocolate cheese cake, panna cotta and apple crumble, the best one was the Chocolate cheese cake, not very sweet. Panna cotta was ok. Apple crumble was disappointing with a very thick crust. Expected the crust to be flaky and light.Last but not least, our waitress Shahla, (hope I got her name right) was very friendly and pleasant and accommodating. Even though it was quite a busy night, she always came by to check and brought us stuff we asked for. Though the food was average, except for the steak, I give it brownie points for the service we received from Shahla.

I definitely preferred his to mine but they were both good.I'm definitely looking forward to going back.
We went at summerlicious for my daughter's birthday. They didn't have a table for us until 1/2 hour after our reservation time. No one took a drink order or brought us bread. Appetizers took about another hour and a Caesar salad arrived without dressing. It was two hours from our reservation before the main courses arrived but others who arrived an hour later than us had been served before us. They didn't have the desserts we had ordered left by the time we got to dessert. They did give us a discount but were not particularly apologetic, blaming other customers for staying too long. The food was mostly good but we world not recommend because of the service.
