We landed here for a late dinner, and were very pleased with several of our selections. There was a tapa and beer special, which we both ordered. The ceviche and patatas bravas were our favorite, we even ordered a second patata bravas, they were so good. We finished with picarones, which were the best I have ever had, don't pass these by.

We're big fans of Peruvian cuisine and were thrilled that Bar Mar opened in the space previously occupied by Celestin. Sadly, we were quite disappointed on our recent visit both with the quality of the food and with the service. The food was most inconsistent. While we enjoyed the causa (topped with crab meat), lomo saltado and ceviche the chicken skewer was positively dreadful (undercooked and tasteless chicken pieces) and the fish stew bland with overcooked halibut and scallops. The service was also inconsistent - at first we had three separate servers tripping over each other to help us (with each one not knowing what the other had done) to only see everyone disappear at the end as we were ignored for almost a half hour before they cleared our plates and brought our bill (which we practically had to beg for).Food here is meant to be shared tapas style and six dishes were more than enough for the three of us. Finally, the Pisco Sour, a Peruvian cocktail, was quite good. We were disappointed enough that I'm not sure we'll give the restaurant another try.
