Everything was fantastic. The back garden is beautiful and cozy. Servers were friendly and informative. Every course was delicious, impossibly fresh and cohesive. The amount of food was ideal. Wine pairings were thoughtful and generous. I definitely want to go back to try in every season. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
It was a unique atmosphere to dine at and spend some time in. Unfortunately, nothing about the taste of any of the dishes stood out to me. There are better options at this price point to try. Meal type: Dinner
We had our second meal at Actinolite last night, and chose to also do the wine pairing. The entire experience was fantastic. The food was delicious and interesting and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable. The wine pairing enhanced both the food and the wine. The ambience is wonderful and unique eating outside is so much more fun! We highly recommend a special meal at Actinolite. Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Our entire tasting menu was vegetarian. We let them know when we reserved our table that we are vegetarian.
This was not my usual restaurant choice, I must admit. I usually like to know what I'm ordering and honestly, the dishes served here were nothing like what I usually eat. However, I am so glad that I decided to step outside my comfort zone! This place had some of the most unique food pairings I have ever heard of (and definitely ever tasted!). For $125, we enjoyed a seven-course meal that left us feeling stuffed and happy. From fresh mushrooms and silken tofu in a broth-soaked bread to house-baked sourdough with house-cured prosciutto and sunchoke dip, each dish was a delight. What is a sunchoke? I'm not sure, but I definitely want to eat it again! The dessert was described by my husband as the best thing he's ever tasted. I am thankful to the staff for educating us on the ingredients in each dish. It was truly a perfect birthday present.
Actinolite offers a 7-course tasting menu with optional wine pairings. The dishes are thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented, with highlights including duck pate on a bread board, tender pork with cabbage roll, and a sweet potato dessert. The progression of courses and wine pairings are spot on, and the service is attentive and efficient. The atmosphere is simple and comfortable, with a lively buzz of conversation. This dining experience ranks in my top three best dinners. Absolutely beautiful.
