I guess I 'm considered a regular since the staff knows my family and how to serve us each time we visit. The food is reasonably priced, the portions is fantastic and just a very family oriented restaurant. Everyone in some aspect knows one another. This is no michelin star restaurant but it doesn 't have to be, it 's just a homey atmosphere. View all feedback.
What Fat Cook Papa (Fat Cook Papa) doesn't like about Alton Chinese:
Not much I have to throw on criticism of food prices and qualities, just a friendly and around the corner restaurant.Although the speed of serving our lunch orders was slow, however, its food taste ? and ?. Not only did they put and serve hundred of dishes, but also you don't have to empty your wallet. Thanks a lot View all feedback.
I don’t have much to criticize about the food prices or quality—this is just a friendly, local restaurant. Although the service for our lunch orders was a bit slow, the taste of the food made up for it. They offered a wide variety of dishes, and you won't break the bank here. Thank you so much!
Best Deal! Only $9.99!?! Soup, HK style tea Fried Rice! Mmm... Also, don't forget to ask for a loyalty card if you wanna get free stuff! ???
The place is so busy, tables were full and the take-out order took 40 minutes. The server remembered my order, she didn't give me any receipt or number. The food was good, really good.
Your typical HK cafe Chinese restaurant on the border of Scarborough and Markham. Our party of 5 arrived at 6:30pm on a Sunday evening and it was full, but there wasn't a wait time. When we left at around 7:45pm, there was about 2 families waiting for tables, though. The service was not great the waitstaff are always very rushed. Thankfully I speak Cantonese so it's easier to communicate, but the others in our party spoke English, so it was a bit difficult for them to make their orders. Each item on the menu we got came with a bowl of rice, which I'm grateful for, since it doesn't seem like many restaurants do that anymore (usually it's extra). The prices themselves were just OK cheaper than the ones up in Markham, but not by much.Kid friendliness: All the tables are larger round tables.Parking: Parking is very easy and simple. Although the restaurant shares the parking with a supermarket and other shops restaurants, it's very large so it's easy to find a spot.
It's a busy place and the food is decent. But the staff attitude is quite poor. Looking at previous reviews, it seems like that's a common theme. Service needs a lot of work.
