One of the only meatball restaurants in Italy. Sounds crazy but it's true. So many types to choose from. Classic beef, pork and chicken to vegetarian and fish, all freshly made with a great selection of side dishes. Absolutely wonderful. Don't leave Turin without paying a visit. You won't be disappointed.
The reference for meatballs lovers. Fish, chicken, beef, vegs, chocolat, cream.. Everything can be used to do meatballs. Try it you won't regret it!!!
If you are luke-warm on meatballs, then Norma is likely not your girl. If on the other hand you think the idea of meatballs wrapped in bacon is a good idea, then Norma will greet you with open arms (actually, I am not sure if there is a real Norma). About those meatballs then… the ones wrapped in a rasher of bacon are called capocollo, which I gather is pork shoulder, with lots of parmagiano. You get five generous meatballs, some salad so you can claim that you ate your greens, and a bag of bread for just 7 or 7.50 Euro. Signora Constanza had fried meatballs called salsiccia e friarielli. That’s pork sausage meat, with the friarielli being a broccoli-like green from southern Italy. They have a deep-fried crispiness to the coating (as if a falafel got promoted to meat) and a spice that builds in the mouth. Norma is a simple place but it is a fine temple of the art of the meatball.
Good atmosphere and concept. Kind, friendly staff and fresh ingredients. Main course (Norma d'Estate) was interesting and bringing back grandma's food memories (I'd prefer it a little more spicy). Anyway my expectation was largely fulfilled, even being a vegetarian. Surprisingly original dessert, based on ricotta, dark chocolate, mint and a fresh strawberry cream. Unlimited bread supply is a great idea, expecially if you're very hungry. Acceptable quality/price ratio, slightly higher than expected.
