If you are looking for a great sea food restaurant in Turin, this is the place. i have been here in March 2016 and I had a wonderful dinner. I Have been in Molo 16 for a business dinner and it was simply spectacular. The strarters (strongly suggested) are excellent, four bites of wonderful dishes. The main course was fantastic, a sort of fish soup with a particular sauce and vegetables. Delicious. Suggestion, the courses are quite big so don't order starters, pasta and main course. If you order pasta don't get the main course and viceversa....you will not be able to finish. I will be here again for sure.
We arrived quite early, being the first ones into the restaurant. They were very welcoming, remarkably so for what i'm used to in turin. We pretty much let ourselves being guided by the cook on both the dishes and the wine. And what a wise choice. The food was excellent. The starter was a selection of 4 different dishes. For primo, we had pasta with squid and, for secondo, a typical pugliese fish a parmegiana, with vegetables. In total, in 2, for 3 courses and wine, we spent around E110. Not cheap, but worth it.
This was our first visit to this small cosy restaurant in the southern Italian Sicilian style; not over powering with decor; simple and welcoming. Tables with ceramic tile inserts; linen serviettes and extremely kind staff. As to the food the bread basket was an introduction of what was to come; homemade and delicious. When the first dish arrived, it conjured up memories of when I used to visit Italy in my childhood and the meals of my great aunt. It was clear from the first courses that the chef had prepared the food with same kind of passion, care and attention; wanting to please the customer with a bouquet of extraordinary tastes. The wafer thin tuna was so fresh that if one closed one 's eyes it was almost possible to smell the sea! The fish arancina was absolutely delightful, cooked to perfection in olive oil with a slight crispness and not the hard shell so commonly found in restaurants that attempt this dish. One could go on each dish was a new culinary experience. There is a discrete wine card that contains Sicilian wines at reasonable prices. This is certainly a restaurant I will be returning to.
Having heard great things about this restaurant, I decided to try it. We entered, and the lady who greeted us without even speaking to us showed us the table near the entrance. The place was freezing, with the fan heaters on low. The same waitress who greeted us took our orders after 10 minutes. When it came time to serve us, she brought us the order for another table. The food was good, nothing spectacular, but everything was good. Since we had booked with The Fork, we were entitled to a 20% discount at the register... we paid €160 with a €24 discount... €184, so that was the price without a discount... but €24 isn't 20% of €184!!!!! Good food, waitress, and welcome could use a makeover!!!!
