Taken to lunch by a friend today and had an extremely pleasant time. Food simple but prepared with care, staff fast but friendly and courteous. It's perfect for a short respite from a busy day in the city. Great value for money too! View all feedback.
What Brenda S doesn't like about E' Cucina Cesare Marretti:
I have lived this restaurant and sent many friends over the yesrs since it started. Today i returned after a long time but was dissappointed rhe rice vegetable starter wad rice with 2 bits of veggie. The seafood pasta was bland, and the chocolate dessert dry and not flavorful at all. The wine pour was small and i was just let down from their previous steller food. I have been to E Cucina many times over the past few years, every time I have been in Turin. It is my favourite place at which to eat. The service is fast and polite. The food is exceptionally good with meticulous attention to every detail from the appetizers, to the primi and second piatti to the delicious desserts. The chef is clearly a perfectionist. Their tartare dishes are out of this world but really every meal that I have had has not disappointed. The prices are exceptionally good for the quality and quantity of food that you get. You know the restaurant is awesome if locals flock to it. The ingredients are premium and fresh. It is usually busy so make sure you reserve a table! Enjoy!
Two of us booked for a Thursday night. It was 80% full which meant buzzing with busy waiters/waitresses. You order one of three streams. We went for veggie and fish each. Both were good but we somehow didn't get that zing of taste. Wine was a reasonable 18 Euro. Meal with coffee and bread was 58 Euro total which we thought was good value. Service was fair we had started our first dish before they returned to take our wine order. Certainly popular with locals, well priced, just didn't quite float out boat on taste for some reason.

The highlight of our trip! I read about the restaurant in a lonely planet book and loved the idea behind it. You only get 2 choices. 1: Meat, Fish or Veg. 2: How many courses would you like? The rest is all a surprise. Because of this they deliver a fine dining tasting menu at an incredibly reasonable price. We arrived as it opened after reserving one of the last tables that night. Within 30 minutes of us being there the restaurant was packed and the atmosphere was great. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, explaining how the menu works and checking if any of us had any allergies so they could work the menu around us. 2 of us being vegetarian chose the Veg menu and our friends chose the Fish menu. The waitress helped us choose some wine and beer to suit and allowed us all a taste to ensure we were happy with it. Then the food arrived... WOW! It popped with colour, smelt amazing and tasted incredible. We were wowed course after course each dish delivering different flavours and cooking techniques to create a fresh and vibrant menu. E’ Cucina Torino was the highlight of our 2 and a half week trip around Italy and I will be recommending it to everyone and anyone visiting Turin! It’s a must!
We think we found out about this restaurant from a Lonely Planet guide. We stayed in Turin briefly while travelling home from Rapallo in 2015. The restaurant is very simply decorated, and the emphasis is on fine cuisine without the high prices. By offering only a choice between meat and fish, and number of courses, they keep the prices lower. Everything we tried was delicious and wonderfully cooked. The waiting staff were helpful (speaking English) and attentive although they were pretty busy. Don't leave Turin without eating here!
