Outward appearance does not promote the delicious food e.g. fish in homemade batter at £7.50. Very friendly staff and locals. Also does B B and although we were not staying if the food is indicative I am sure that standards would be high and value for money. Since Covid Tourists tend to stay in Abergavenny thereby missing a atmospheric slice of Welsh history and culture. View all feedback.
What Lor137 doesn't like about Queen Victoria Inn:
The Queen's food is great on a budget and has big portions. The pub itself is a bit basic but this is fine for the price you pay. They do Sunday lunches too but I have only had the bar food menu which was nice. View all feedback.
Called here on a day out for lunch. We Had a very warm welcome when we arrived and were seated straight away and given menu's. There is not a big choice but what is there is a nice few select dishes. We had a very nice meal which arrived quickly and hot. The price was very good and well worth it. Would definatley go there again and would recommend it to anyone.

Went for meal. Our normal place was fully booked ended up here! Did look rough around edges. Doesn’t take card, so keeps costs really low! Proper home cooked chips, the best ever battered fish, lovely moist peas, lovely side salad and gorgeous bread and butter. All no frills, but probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! All for £6.25! Can you believe it!
Visited on Monday and had five meals and drinks. Very affordable and lovely staff and food. Highly recommended especially for those on a budget.
Staying at the lion last Saturday night and called into the queen Victoria for dinner. Warm welcome. Friendly atmosphere and amazing home cooked menu. Had home cooked lasagne and hand cut chips with salad for £5. Unbelievable value and thoroughly enjoyed our evening there.
