They looked like they had been sitting around for a while and definitely... read more I visited this restaurant today to get some chips and paid 3 pounds for them in a tray. They looked like they had been sitting around for a while and definitely were not freshly cooked. When I asked about it, the owner explained that the vinegar they were sitting in caused them to look like that. He replaced them for me and the second batch was much better - properly cooked, crispy and golden. I wonder why they didn't serve them like that the first time.

We didn't receive the correct order; I got extra items that I didn't order, and my partner's order was missing items. It seemed like they had a new employee working as they usually get our order perfect. The quality of the battered sausages has declined in my opinion.

I ordered a small portion of chips, as I usually do, but I was disappointed to find that the portion was smaller than usual. The chips were also unevenly cooked, with some being undercooked. This was not up to their usual standard of generous portions and perfectly cooked chips. I plan to give them another chance soon in hopes that they return to their usual high quality and value for money.

It was about 4pm to 4.30pm and we decided to go to Mister Chippy, who we were told did a great gish and chips....how wrong can you be. The person who served me looked tired and unenthusiastic. I asked for two pies and a portion of chips, ended up with one pie, one pastie and chips. Soggy pie, soggy pastie and the chips were **** awful. They tasted as if they had been cooked hours ago and just kept in the warmer. Soggy, greasy and not pleasant to eat, needless to say, most of it went in the bin. Based on this experience, my advise is to give this place a wide berth.

You can't beat 2 full breakfasts and 2 cups of tea for £10.20.The staff are always pleasant and welcoming and the service is first class. I would recommend the cafe to anyone.
