I stood at the bar while my part... read more My partner and I called at the Greenhouse Public House for a drink having been living away from the area for a number of years. I stood at the bar while my partner went to the toilet waiting to be served. A young lad was...serving a gentleman which was fair enough and the pub was virtually empty. I waited and waited and despite other staff (including the manager) being behind the bar talking nobody seemed to be interested in asking me if I had been served or want my business. My partner returned and asked if I had been served to which I replied no. Then to add insult to injury a local chap walked boldly straight up to the bar and got served before me. I couldn’t believe it and what a cheek! We left the Greenhouse without purchasing a drink and went to another drinking establishment up the road where we received better service. The barman could have said that he would be with me shortly and the manager could have asked have you been served or asked another member of staff to serve me. Where are the manners, respect and service gone in this place? It seems to me that they give priority to the locals. We won’t be returning to this place anytime soon.

The Cumberland sausages were not authe... read more We were greeted with a friendly welcome, but the table was sticky. We asked for it to be cleaned, but it remained sticky. The Cumberland sausages were not authentic and the mashed potato was dry and tasted like heavy, inedible powder. The peas were hard and lacking in flavor. The gammon and pineapple were cooked on a dirty grill with burnt bits and black juice. Despite requesting the egg to be cooked hard and solid, it was not done correctly. The chips were the only highlight, being excellent and tasty. Overall, we were very disappointed with the food. The server continuously apologized for the unsatisfactory meal.

Food is a decent amount, the correct por... read more Superb pub with such friendly staff. Very good atmosphere for a chain pub and can tell the locals really enjoy it here. Food is a decent amount, the correct portion size for an adult.Drinks kept flowing well and was asked a few times if everything was okay. Prices are reasonable for again a chain pub. Great service and most enjoyable here.We will be back soon!Thank you
