My wife and I have dined at this restaurant before and remembered it being fantastic. I'm happy to say that nothing has changed; it is still fantastic. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and the service is top-notch. Most importantly, the food is incredibly delicious. The proximity to the Palace Theatre makes it a convenient option for a pre-show meal. In contrast to national chain restaurants that seem to operate with mass production kitchens, The Avenue Bistro stands out with its family team that consistently delivers high-quality, reasonably priced food. We will definitely continue to support this outstanding restaurant.

This restaurant is a lovely hidden gem. Came with my partner on a Wednesday evening and found the service to be perfect, food tasted fabulous and the service impeccable.

This is an absolute gem of a find. Home cooked delicious food, very reasonably priced and good portion sizes. We were so sad to realise we couldn’t fit in a return visit. The garlic mushroom and potted crab starters were divine and we both enjoyed our mains fish pie and catch of the day. We had three courses each an amazing homemade cheesecake and tiramisu, a bottle of wine and desert wines and with the tip this amazing meal came to £84. An absolute bargain. Would love to return and would make it our number one stop on a return journey to Paignton.
