What Debi C dislikes about Devon Dumpling:
Very disappointed with our food last week, sadly we were forewarned about the poor quality of food before we ate there. Hubbi had a meal with peas that were in a solid mass rather than loose, and i had an awful veggi burger that was like mash potato. We really should have mentioned this at the time but it was so busy and we just thought it was a bad night. However during the night we were both poorly with stomach cra... View all feedback.

Says food served 1200-2100, but arrived midafternoon to be told the kitchen was shut.
Just an amazing busy place which is proven by being packed when it's lashing with rain on a Sunday afternoon. Staff are very friendly and the food is the best.
The food was delicious and the service was quick. The atmosphere was not very lively, but we visited early in the day so we assume it improves, especially in the evening.
Picking up her ladyship, so the coffee was really nice. And her ladyship and friends said the food was great.

Very disappointed Limited lunchtime menu The menus are scruffy A4 copy where the printing doesn’t even line up. Looks shoddy Miserable service Shame
Poor service with equally poor food. Dried out food and waited over 5 minutes for some cutlery to arrive so dinner was then cold aswell. Won't be visiting again
So we booked to come here for dinner around a month ago, my friend booked the table online and seemed to have been pretty straight forward… she wanted to ring ahead to confirm that the table was booked as not recieved confirmation, rang multiple times but unable to contact the pub as kept ringing. Arrived to the pub to be seated and waited a while for a drinks order, once we had our drinks and everyone arrived, we again waited a long time for a food order to be taken and was about 30 mins for our food to arrive. When the food arrived it was clearly over cooked and burnt and not once were we asked if our meals were okay! It was so disappointing to have this bad meal after having amazing meals in the past, and has now put me off for coming back in the future.
Excellent roast. We each had different meats, all delicious. Enormous Yorkshire puddings! Fast and friendly service.
We tried numerous times previously to book a table online and also over the phone. The email I sent has still yet to be answered and on telephoning the man was rude and curt! The same man was on the bar yesterday he was extremely rude when we asked him for a menu rudely telling us that food isn't served until 6 then was 5.45. The menus were all tatty and stained and had seen better days if I'm honest. His conversation with numerous customers consisted of the F word constantlv. S.…...G was spoken about. W....G also. There were also numerous calls which were left unanswered obviously customers. This made us feel very uncomfortable hearing all of these conversations. The candles on the tables were all burnt down, the toilets were littered with empty toilet rolls. A young girl/woman was floating in and out of the bar area. She wasn't working there as an elderly gentleman had asked her previously and she replied with a blunt NO!! The general atmosphere wasn't welcoming so we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. This saddened us as we have had so many great family meals there over the years. Unfortunately we won't be returning and it will be sad to see this specific pub decline if it does so.

An atmospheric little pub with room for 25-30 upstairs (available to book out as we did) and more downstairs. They have a combination of local ales and more...
