What User doesn't like about Johnny's Tavern Topeka:
This was our first time dining at Johnny's Tavern and we usually eat at the one in Lawrence. The pizza was just as great as we remembered, they really have delicious pizza. We wanted to try their breadsticks, but we had to order them from the regular menu as they don't offer them as an appetizer. Over-priced for lunch. Pork Tenderloin was tough. Fish was so-so and served on a piece of paper that tore when cutting the fish. Seasoned fries not well-seasoned and tasted as if they have been prepared earlier and re-heated.
During my stay at the Marriott Spring Hill and after attending a chilly baseball game on Saturday, I decided to order takeout. It took some time to get through on the phone, but once I received my order, I was impressed with how well it was packaged and how delicious it tasted.
The lettuce in the salad was limp, the coleslaw seemed old, and they even served my Moscow Mule with a rotting lime wedge. However, the service was good - friendly and professional. The total bill for two lunches and four drinks came to $80.00, which was expensive considering the poor quality of the food. With so many other dining options available, I will not be returning to this restaurant.

We wanted to try their breadsticks, but we had to order them from the regular menu as they don't offer them as an appetizer. This seemed strange to us, especially because they are basically just strips of pizza dough. The portion was too big for two people, so we probably won't order them again unless they offer a smaller appetizer version in the future. Our server was very friendly, but it did take a little while to get our food even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Overall, it was a good dining experience.
