Rose Garden Cafe - Gecko Valley Winery

The place was closed earlier in the week when I had planned to visit, so I left it to Friday before I headed up that way again. Despite arriving at 1:50pm and waiting for a while at the counter to be served, I was told that I couldn't order anything savoury for lunch - only coffee and cakes. They closed the kitchen at 2pm. Still feeling pretty lay back, I decided to order a glass of wine and sit for a while in the delightful outdoor area. They were kind enough to offer me a taste of the wine I was recommended, first. 20 minutes later, some yummy looking lunches were brought out for other patrons. I asked about a cheese plate. Well yes, they could make up a $17 cheese platter for 2. The friendly counter staff member thought I might be able to get a smaller plate for 1, but was told by kitchen staff - no.Despite feeling unwelcome, I enjoyed the delicious verdello wine, lovely views and georgeous Queensland weather. Not looking forward to heading back to Melbourne's winter at all!

Great spot for a cafe BUT such a shame the owners appear to have no idea what they are doing and don't care one iota for their customers. They come across like they are doing us a favour by serving us food and coffee. Food poor, coffee terrible, wine not worth the money, access road and signage is appalling - don't bother! Such a shame as they could've made this place amazing!

Cute little place for lunch. Prices aren't to bad. I have not been back but would like to try it again. Wines they have made were for sale and were quite nice

Lovely venue and atmosphere although it can get quite windy and hot outside which is the preferred situation. Great food (although basic) and drinks, excellent service. Well worth trying.

Was good to see a better road to the café. Also nice to be able to taste the Baffle Creek craft beers. Lunch was good although servings are small, service is slow. Dessert are nice but also small and coffee was a real disappointment unfortunately as we are coffeeholics and would come back here often just for that but needless to say we won't and won't order coffees next time.Overall it's a nice place to come for something different.
