What User doesn't like about Maverik Adventure's First Stop:
I was quite disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. The card readers were malfunctioning, and it seemed like the staff didn't intend to fix them. When I attempted to pay, I learned that if you pay inside, you can receive a nitro discount, but when I inquired about this with the staff, the manager was quite upset and said they couldn't do anything about it. Date: September 12, 2022 I don’t even think the card reader registers that a card is present. Maverik doesn’t seem to prioritize the convenience of commuters. The lines are long, with only two employees working. This morning, there was just a single cashier available. While there are self-checkout options if you have an authorization code, the line for the cashier was still longer. The time it takes to try and fail, get in line, obtain the auth code, and then pump gas is frustrating—by the time I do all that, I could have already been on the road. I usually fill up every five days, but it’s time for me to switch to Chevron in Lake Point for my pre-commute gas. Good luck to those managing the card readers; I’d love to know when they start working! Previous notes: - September 6, 2022: Not working - August 29, 2022: Nope - August 23, 2022: No - August 16, 2022: Not working - August 10, 2022: Fluke—Pump 13 does not work. - August 3, 2022: Pump 13 worked!!! Holy cow! - July 29, 2022: Not working - July 21, 2022: Not working - July 14, 2022: Not working - July 11, 2022: Nope - July 5, 2022: Doesn’t even recognize that a debit card is inserted into the reader... - June 28, 2022: Chip reader will not work. - June 21, 2022: Still broken. - April 22, 2022: CHIP READERS!! The chip readers on the pumps never work. In December 2021, an employee told me they got a new chip reader system, but today, they have no idea what's going on.
Recently renovated, the restaurant is clean and features an indoor barbecue. The food is fresh, and the prices are reasonable for the quality.

This response felt inappropriate. I've encountered similar issues at other establishments in the past, where staff worked hard to resolve problems. While I understand that issues arise, poor customer service can significantly impact a customer's willingness to return.
Card readers at the pump never work. They do not want them, so customers are forced to go to the store and spend money. Go back!
