Your comment in quasi English will surely puzzle and mislead anyone who reads English ! The Abbaye is a wonderful place to eat. The site is breathtaking, the staff attentive and the food delightful. I live in Tonnerre and am proud to be able to...take my visiting friends to the Abbaye... I can’t wait for the hotel to open so l can treat myself to a long week-end of pampering. The Abbaye: better than anything you can find in the XVIeme (for those who don’t know, the XVIeme is the upside section of Paris.
Would be a shame for any food lovers to miss out on, particularly given the amazing view and rustic yet modern jazzy ambiance.
Was cycling in the area and our host booked this for us as we were going home the following day. The food was good but the service excellent. The restaurant we believe had recently been purchased and slowly the owners are updating everything. The restaurant,...toilets look fantastic. Thank you for being fantastic hosts and looking after British cyclists and taking us all back by car to the hotel we were staying at.
This used to be our favourite place, so cool and quirky but it has completely changed. The awesome bar is closed off, the awesome cocktail menu no longer there, the fab value planche no longer available. .. instead we paid for half a glass...of indifferent rosé in a PLASTIC glass, the only food was burger/hot dog and chips in a cardboard box. We will not be going back, such a shame.
Not sure there could ever be a reason to visit let alone stay in Tonnerre. The rooms here are very new and comfortable. The restaurant was very patchy and the chef has a very sweet tooth in every dish! The fois gras was the smallest...portion I have ever seen in France. Wine list lacking anything of interest.
