We knew there was a very good reason we stop going here months months ago but we thought we would try it again, NOTHING had changed, absolutely crap, the chicken balls were nearly un-edible , the chips were dry and the special chow mein was vile, please don’t waste your money.

Woul... read more Been going to the Lovely regularly for over a decade and never been disappointed sweet and sour Cantonese style and shredded chilli beef are my favourites. Would highly recommend, has a wide menu and is reasonably priced compared to the overblown restaurants nearby. Service is pleasingly transactional, I phone my mother if I want a chat.

Our favour Chinese restaurant/take away recently closed down, so we 've been on the hunt for a new one ever since and after constant disappointment from others... read more Our favour Chinese restaurant/take away recently closed down, so we 've been on the hunt for a new one ever since and after constant disappointment from others we decided to try out 'Lovely ' again after many years of not using it. Unfortunately we won 't be using it again. The Lady answering the phone was extremely abrupt and impatient and the food was just really bad, no flavour whatsoever! The ribs were fatty and under done, the salt pepper chicken was more like chicken goujons and the special chow mein was the blandest/driest I 've ever eaten. And don 't get me started on the Aromatic Duck, I always thought it was meant to be crispy? Not this one, it was just soggy un rendered fat and the meat was really hard to shred. So, another bites the dust and the search continues.

Chicken curry was like chicken in gravy with... read more Had a takeaway this weekend. They don’t deliver and only accept cash at the weekend! Food wasn’t very nice at all. Chicken curry was like chicken in gravy with nothing else in the dish and the chicken chowmein was very dark and tasteless. Looked like it had been cooked in dirty oil. This might be a one off as I’ve never tried it before. I’ll give it one more go at some point, but to be honest, I’m not holding out much hope. A real shame as this place has so much potential with its location and the amount of people that would use it if the quality was better.
