Harry's Express - Tonawanda

The change in management has essentially destroyed this restaurant. They don’t even have a liquor license, yet they display a huge advertisement for beer in the front window.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. As a neighbor, I often chat with them, and they are quick to assist with checking out. They also offer both gas and diesel fuel.

The restaurant may not catch your eye from the outside, as it's located inside a gas station, but it's definitely worth a visit. Nina was incredibly welcoming to my mom and me, and she was very helpful with our order. We got chicken wraps and chicken over rice topped with all three sauces, and they were absolutely delicious. We also tried her French fries that come with special spices, and they were fantastic. She mentioned that she has a long list of customers to call when she makes a special dish on Fridays because it's so popular and usually sells out by dinner time. I will definitely be returning!

Do check the photos on the counter, but don’t let them mislead you; they may not accurately represent what you’ll get. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. We ordered the chicken over rice and a chicken wrap. The rice dish was delicious—basmati rice topped with marinated chicken, a special creamy sauce, mint chutney, and sesame seeds. You can opt for mango chutney, but I found it a bit too sweet for my liking. The wrap was less appealing, as it was more of a burrito with an excessive amount of cheese, which overshadowed the wonderful chicken flavor for me. It didn't look like the pictures, but that didn’t bother me too much. I’m looking forward to coming back to try the lamb or something different if available. Also, there is a seating area if you prefer to eat there instead of taking out.

UPDATED January 2020 - The kitchen is now closed. Don’t be put off by its location in a gas station; the food here is excellent, and Nina is fantastic. Everyone who works here is helpful and friendly. I just had the chicken over rice with white sauce and hot mango, and I’m already craving more. Give this place a try—you won’t be disappointed!
