We taken to this snack bar by friends that had been to it before ...even they could not eat it , it was that bad . I had a Tuna toasty , the Toasty was so hard , I had to use a knife to cut it , it looked like the crust from the end of the loaf . Also the service very very slow and hardly anyone in the snack bar .. Not impressed an will not be back to it .. A typical tourist snack bar where they do car if you come back as there are plenty more people after you to come .
We were drawn to this place as it seemed like a good alternative to the more touristy restaurants in the main square and after years of travelling Portugal we’ve learned following where the locals eat usually delivers a good meal at a good price. The prices were good here however the food was awful. My wife ordered the house style bacalhau which arrived burned to a cinder which smelled discussing and put everyone else off their lunch. My squid and prawn kebab was drier than Ghandi’s sandals. Our sons steak looked very rubbery yet he’s at that age when he’ll eat anything. Avoid at all costs!
Stay away from this place. Prices are very inviting but the food is not good at all. Overall, it's money badly spent.
The staff only spoke a very small amount of English but we made the effort to speak basic Portuguese and the man who served us seemed very pleased we had attempted in fact he shook my husbands hand. He helped me with trying to explain the desserts. We found staff friendly and accommodating. Food was basic but very good for the price.
