When we called, the owner, Vicky, informed us that they were fully booked, yet we found ourselves as the only guests aside... read more This restaurant has a peculiar vibe. When we called, the owner, Vicky, informed us that they were fully booked, yet we found ourselves as the only guests aside from a resident. The layout includes an inner hallway with an outer door that remains unlocked, leaving all rooms accessible. Although there is a no smoking policy in place, the owner, Rick, spends all day smoking in a corner room, which has made the air quite unpleasant. In the morning, we even noticed fresh packs of cigarettes left outside our terrace doors. They provide a cleaning cart in the hallway for any requests, but it surprisingly lacked toilet paper. Not a huge deal, but it adds to the overall strangeness of the experience. I personally won't be returning, and I wouldn't advise others to go either.

We decided to try the place out this past weekend, and we were happily surprised. The positives The room was very clean and extremely quiet with a nice view of the Wisconsin River. Both the online booking and check in were seamless. The room was well stocked with super fluffy towels and a very comfortable bed. And a huge bonus was the breakfast vouchers for Tomahawk Family Restaurant. (There were also vouchers for Outboards, the restaurant next door, but we didn't have the chance to use those. The only improvements I'd suggest would be eventually replacing the dated carpet and tub/shower, but they were clean and this would never be a deal breaker.

We booked because it was a great price, across from the Wisconsin river with a beautiful view from the second floor balcony and the water ski show will be right there in summer. The rooms are large and extra toiletry amenities that many hotels wouldn’t have! The hosts are so gracious and fun! It is a local family who grew up in Tomahawk so very Knowledgeable. The clincher that hooked us was included; free breakfast at local fave, Tomahawk Diner type place just up the road! Can’t say enough! This location sitting next to great bar Grill across the street from a huge tackle sporting type store and across the bridge from Dairy Queen makes this a hit! This is perfect for a couple getaway, work or play event!
