Contribute Feedback What My Trish A likes about Las Fodongas:
This is my local go-to location when we are in Toluca! We usually order the entomatado de res which is like a brothy soup with tomatoes and beef. And my husband gets the espinaso de mole. Which is a green mole (delicious) with pork. You must order the cafe de olla as well. Usually their is a line but it moves pretty fast. The longest we have waited is 15 minutes. Graat soupy food for the Cole weather! View all feedback.

I'm an Vietnamese American that worked in Toluca for 3 years between 2007-2010. After convincing my colleagues at GM plant to take me out to eat street food and real people food (not fancy places that they kept taking me we did a taco stand and then Las Fodongas. That was life changing visit. I love spicy foods and the richness in seasonings across the many stews (I forget what Mexicans call that type of stew. and I couldn't get enough. I ended up eating there with my family (wife, kids, and outlaws every time our travels took us by Toluca. And they all loved it! Tripa, Lengua, Costilla. And the meat balls were my daughters' favorite. And the bread. The bread is like no other! It's like a hybrid between French baguette and a sour dough, but not sour. Costilla de Res... I miss you, my love! LOL
Best typical regional food! Starting from Espinazo and Gericaya as a desert. Bread is home made as well tortillas.
