I recently visited Cafe Slow for the first time after I found it on Instagram and wanted to go for a while. Every weekend they have a peasant market/Bulk Foods fair in their outdoor area. They sell things like nuts, fruit, chocolate, cookies, hot drinks and organic vegetables. I recommend coming there at 11-11:30 when you go on weekends, because later in lunch hour a little crowded (it started to get 12:30-1 when I left). There's a children's room with picture books and toys. There is a bakery that has some vegan bread (although some cannot be vegan so you should check). The café itself has some non-vegan food (fish), but its vegan lunch, desserts, etc. are clearly marked and plentiful! They use organic, local and fair foods. The building uses solar power. There are indoor and outdoor seats. I would have given it 5 stars, but since there is not a fully vegan restaurant the site only allowed me to give 4 stars. I recommend it for everyone in the area. It is a little far from where I live, but I drove my bike there (it took about 2 hours). Bring your own containers when you can fill in their bulk goods!
The staff at this restaurant are very friendly and helpful, always willing to answer any questions about the menu. Vegan options are clearly labeled and they even have options for vegan children. The food was cooked well and delicious, with fast and efficient service. Customers must sign in at the front desk with their name in order to be seated, to ensure proper social distancing. The restaurant also maintains temperature control measures to reduce the risk of Covid spread. The atmosphere is rustic and charming, with plenty of seating and shops with vegan-friendly items. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
Very friendly and helpful staff who likes to answer questions about what is in any food item. Vegan options are clearly marked on the menu and they even have a vegan children option. The food was well cooked and delicious. The service was quick and easy. Make sure you have to sign the clipboard on the front with your name, or they will take the people behind you by calling their name. Temperature control before eating to help reduce the risk of Covid Spread. Beautiful rustic atmosphere with many seating, shops and additional items that are vegan friendly. I'm going back.
I had lunch here. The vegan plate was delicious, but a little expensive for the price. But since they use organic ingredients, I think it cannot be helped. I liked the spacious interior with a view into the garden, which is very rare for Japan, especially Kanto area.
