Vegetarian options are limited but we had an all greens salad an a falafel wrap that was very good. French fries were freshly cut and not greasy at all. Wine list was extensive. Outdoor seating provided an excellent view of the harbour and boat hoses on the other side. Great service. Highly recommended. View all feedback.

So we're heading back into town after a beautiful morning at Long Beach, right? And the kids are really hungry. And our phones haven't yet reconnected to the net so we can't surf for a good place for lunch. And so we stop. My wife goes in to check it out. This place is like no other. I knew exactly how I felt about this place when one of the owners personally opened and held the door for our table of 4. Pete was one of the many aspects of this "Avant garde" eating experience. If you're looking for an upscale and pretentious restaurant that deals with tourists like a machine deals with packing meat, this is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for a trip into the home and headspace of some of the oldest and most lovely locals in the town, this place is a must see. Nowhere else was willing to have a conversation with us about the effects that tourism had on this small logging town. This is the only place in Tofino where you will truly feel treated as a person instead of being scammed as a tourist. 5 stars. This establishment knows what it is and doesn't bother putting on any flashy clothing or upscale food to ensure you come back. You come back because you loved trying something so out of the ordinary and experimental. This is exactly what Tofino would be like without the pretentious locals and tourism based economy. I'll remember my visit for the rest of my life

We would have walked out, even after ordering, but we felt bad for the two guys. Now it's two hours later and nobody is sick yet but we're all still thoroughly grossed out. And someday we might forgive my wife.
First thing you notice when you walk in is the fish smell. The bar, equipment and furniture is dated. The glasses and silverware are spotted and you so not get ice with your drinks. The menu is simple and needs update in food choices. However the server, despite his injury was very attentive, he kept our drinks full and made some jokes during our meal to lighten the mood. The owner was also the cook and was a very nice friendly man who explained their circumstance, that this business was passed down from his father who had died in recent years. We ordered a medium hawaian pizza to split, which was more than enough for 2. It tasted ok, no better or worse than what you would get in a supermarket. Most people probably walk out once they see the inside, however we were glad we stayed to meet two very nice men struggling to revive an old business being priced out by the tourist trap of Tofino We hope things start to look up for them, and you might give them a shot even if it's just a quick stop for a coffee and some constructive criticism.
Like so many reviews suggested, we felt like we walked into the Bates Motel. The smell hits you as you walk in, it smells old and dirty. Normally, I would walk out, but felt compelled to sit down. There was another couple talking to the owner and they were joking, so we assumed they must have eaten there before. As we were sitting we both were looking around noticing how dirty the place was, then he brought us glasses for water and they were filthy! Anyhow to make a long story short we paid for the fish and chips to go and threw the food out the batter wasn't cooked and the fish was definitely not fresh but frozen. We should all be putting a complaint to the Canadian Food Inspection this man should be stopped.
