Feedback
My partner and I have lived in Toccoa for nearly two years, and it took us this long to gather the courage to try Quincy's, as we had heard from many that the food was truly awful and the quality was subpar. Unfortunately, we learned this lesson the hard way. Typically, we drive almost 50 miles to Anderson, SC, to dine at Golden Corral when we crave buffet-style food, but we chose not to make the lengthy trip on this occasion, having just returned to town from a long journey. After this experience, we will surely make the drive to Anderson next time we're in the mood for a buffet. Comparing Quincy's with Golden Corral is like comparing night and day. Without a doubt, Quincy's simply does not measure up.
Myra the waitress was very nice and cared for us. The food was what was expected. I liked the fish and was very delicate and moist. I look forward to more change to the buffet. The menu is where you get your specialties like crab legs and steaks. Good place for old fashion food. I want to see more articles that are hard to find in other restaurants.
I would have rated this restaurant higher, but they kept running out of plates and bowls, and the buffet wasn't consistently stocked. The food was generally good, but unfortunately, the chicken soup had gone bad, and my husband had to spit it out. I've visited this place once before and I understand they have a new owner now. I had a chance to talk to him and his wife; they are very nice people. I hope they can get these minor issues sorted out. We will definitely be returning.
Reading some of the other reviews, it’s clear that many people don’t fully understand what goes into running a business, especially when starting out. It requires time, money, dedication, and countless hours of work to get things up and running. A committed staff is also essential. I agree that cleanliness could improve, but as for the decor being outdated or the floors being dirty, let's give them some time! While we waited for our food, the owner came out to greet us and he seemed genuinely nice and eager to please his customers. The food was decent, especially for the price. However, the standout of the evening was our server, a lovely young lady named Sara. She was preparing for a trip to Florida the next day, and whether it was the excitement for her vacation or not, she was absolutely wonderful. Very professional, incredibly sweet, and had a fantastic personality! She received a well-deserved tip for her outstanding service. I wish I could have service like hers every time I dine out! I encourage those leaving negative reviews to reconsider and give this place another chance in the future. Opening a business is no small feat, and it takes a significant investment of time and money, even if the restaurant has been open before. I really hope the owner takes the feedback seriously and addresses the concerns raised. I genuinely want to see this place succeed! To our server, if you ever read this, thank you for being so amazing at what you do! Enjoy your trip to Florida!
